First Visit with My PCP

Recommended Posts

I went to see my PCP today. The last time I saw her was in April of last year. I felt that I'm ready to start getting off of some of the meds I'm on. I went a couple of days ago and had labs drawn and then had a full physical today.

She was thrilled that I had gotten a lapband and was losing so much weight. My labs were all great except some of my lipids (though they had improved). She wants me to start taking fish oil and asked me to take a specific brand. So, adding a pill to the regimen.

BUT....she said I could stop taking Metformin! WooHoo! And to start cutting my blood pressure pill in half. She wants me to take 4 or 5 BP's at work and call her in a month with the results. If they're still good, I can stop the BP med.

I've also been taking a anti-inflammatory for my feet. My feet have been a lot better in the last six months mainly to finding an awesome brand of nursing shoes. I've had debilitating plantar fasciitis for 4years. She said I could see how I did with not taking it.

My last prescription med was a pill for my stomach which I probably need only beacuse of the Metformin and the anti-inflammatory. I'm gonna keep taking it for a while though.

I'm going back in 3 months to make sure everything is still going well.

I'm very excited! I'm thinking about all of the copays I'm not going to have anymore. What to do with that money.....?

How totally weird!!!!! I had my annual physical with my PCP today too! Excited to report she took me off ALL my blood pressure medication and wants me to monitor it to see if it stays good. Had blood work done to check thyroid med to see if that could be adjusted but as of today that's my only prescription med I'm on. YAY. Goal achieved!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
