Post op day 5. I stayed in the hospital two days and then in a hotel in the city. In the event of any problems, I did nnot want to deal with our small hospital. I am doing good but am still swollen and bloated. Tummy volcano is not so bad but still feel the bloat. I had lost 13 lbs on the pre op diet and was surprised to get home and fine my post op wt was UP. It must be all the Fluid etc.

In the hospital I only ate my Protein stuff they gave me in an envelope and sipped Water, mostly sucked ice. At the hotel, the first day I could only get one shake down, yesterday I got two and today the required 3. I find sucking on ice is good for me, but I have sipped some water today. I don't see my doctor again until March 11.

Water retention? I'm not sure, I don't remember bloating. I hope it eases soon!

No it isn't Water retention. I asked the nurse practitioner and here is what she said. "It is VERY normal, some people are swollen for weeks. You have to remember that even though you will heal on the outside in about 2 weeks, it will take about three months to completely heal on the inside. Also remember you had MAJOR surgery and you can expect to be sore and swollen".

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
