Banded 2/2013, lost 85lbs, Help needed to stay on track!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I lost 85lbs. since 2/2013. I haven't hit my personal goal of 100 yet but I feel like I am loosing my momentum. I had a Tummy Tuck in November and I feel great. Lately my eating habits have been horrible and I can't get myself to go to the gym. I'm pretty sure it's a mind (brain) game but how do I keep my momentum?? I also find that after I eat something terrible, I vomit, this isn't good either! I searched for recipes on here too but I can't find any. Can someone copy/paste some links?? Thanks so much

Remember how you felt carrying around that 90lbs that should be momentum enough.

Time for a visit to your surgeon/doctor? I hadn't been for a few months and felt like I was losing momentum and a check up was just what I needed.

Best decision I made when this happened to me was a revisit with the nutristionist. She taught me to re-eat and gave me some new ideas to get me motivated. Good Luck!

I totally feel the same as you. Thank you for posting. I feel quite tearful as I write this. Knowing I'm not alone in how I feel is such a relief. I'm 130 down about 40 to go. I've just been approved for a TT and breast lift. Should be really focused motivated but I'm not ????. The gym for me is the easy bit but food is a HORRENDOUS battle daily. And like you if I eat badly I vomit. Not something that's happened frequently but thought best to try to nip it in the bud before it gets worse. Hoping talking about it helps.

Banded about the same time as you. 2/19/13 and down 90, but have slowed to 7 pounds in 3 months. Not letting it get me down though. If you have support groups in your area, attend, attend, attend as if you life depended on it! Overeaters Anonymous and other programs have helped many surgery patients. Maybe if you have a support group through your hospital you can volunteer to be a speaker for groups of new people seeking bariatric surgery. I did that last week and feel like a new person. Will speak again next month at the Seattle hospital. Good luck and keep on going.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
