Has anyone tried Isopure Protein Drinks?

Someone just told me that their husband (who had a bypass 10 years ago) really liked the Isopure drinks at GNC. I looked at them online, and they are pricey, but it seems like there are good flavors and they are clear, almost like colored Water. I want to try some, but I am a little gun shy after having bought a bunch of powders that are awful tasting. So I thought I'd check in with my sleeve buddies and see if anyone had gotten them, and how they taste. Oh, it's day 4 of my liquid pre-op diet, and I am down an unbelievable 11 pounds. I'm shocked by that. Is this normal?

Noor omg yes I thought it was just me but I thought the grape tasted and smelled like a nasty burp when gunk comes up with it. The apple melon was tolerable but still wasn't good to me. I didn't like the coconut either. All 3 I tried had a horrible after taste. 40 grams of protein for one bottle is great but apple melon so far is the only one I can FORCE myself to drink. I plan to try the nectar pink grapefruit and lemonade this week as they have received raving reviews.

I have tried all the flavones and cannot tolerate the taste or smell! Made me sick even when I tried to dilute them.... Good luck

Thanks everyone! I am just looking for a different flavor. I am already sick of the shakes. I think they are all pretty yucky. But I am gagging them down since I know it is only temporary. SF jello is my new best friend at the moment. And I will try adding the syrups and flavorings. Great suggestions! Many Thanks to all of you!

I absolutely hate to admit this but...My BFF bought me a bunch of these for my birthday which was a few days before my surgery. He bought one of every flavor he could find, I think there were 8 or ten overall. I drank half a punch and some of an orange and threw the rest out. I did hold on to them for months thinking I would drink them eventually, but I just couldn't do it. For the record my friend had his surgery in December and he can't stand the Isopure either! Everyone has different tastes...

I never realized how palatable the thick shakes were until I had to deal with isopure and nectars. God awful the whole lot of clear Proteins, but there's a special place in hell for isopure!

I tried them early after my Gastric Sleeve surgery and I did not like them. I still drink Premier Potein shakes. They are delicious. I saw an advertisement on this site "Insure Nutrition". They specialize in getting your health insurance to cover your nutritional supplements. Has anyone tried them and are they legit?

I tried the isopure unflavored protein podwer and that too is aweful! When they say unflavored I think they mean it is not vanilla but to me it has a flavor and a smell. I tried it every way possible and just couldn't stand it. I now make my own using a vanilla protein podwer (can't remember the brand) which is 30g per scoop. I like to mix it with a cup of low sugar almond milk and a Lil ice.

Although I do not think that they have the best aftertaste, I have tried them with 10oz of water(cutting the taste) and adding 2 squirts of liquid crystal light...I like them MUCH better now. (I've been trying them pre op so that I know what I am in for next week)

YES!!! I just got the call from Insure Nutrition...they work with your doctor and your insurance, and I got approved for the Protein and scar cream...I didn't get approved for Vitamins :( .... but HEY, I got the other...FREE!!!! APPLY NOW!!! (and I'm a year out btw)

The Clear Liquids ones are AWEFUL. I had a very hard time getting them down. I probably have 12 bottles (grape flavor) left, which I would be happy to give away to anyone in the CT/NYC area. The least bad was the coconut one, but it also has a horrible after taste (no matter what you mix them with!).; surprisingly, the flavorless Isopure Protein Powder is good. On a side note, Isopure is a very reputable company and its Protein products are supposedly very pure.

I only tried the grape, but BLECCCHHHH! I definitely prefer Syntrax Nectar flavors, especially the pink grapefruit and iced tea flavors. I also mix flavors a bit, and add a bit of crystal light at times, like lemon and coconut. They are my go-to protein shakes for daytime. For breakfast I live the Atkins RTF Cafe Caramel! I hear Syntax's Cappuccino is great, but I would have to blend it with milk.

I like the frosty grape as long S it's cold I have no problems drinking it .

I can choke down orange and the blur raspberry..

Premier Protein shakes cause me to pass out from Protein shock and i get super nauseous!!

Isopure is tolerable..but hey everyone is different..buy a couple of bottles to try it out

I keep recommending my shake to everyone!

I brought this to my dr and he gave me a thumbs up for usage. Love this stuff. The Dutch Choc doesn't taste terrible either!

Isopure is gross! I barely choked it down-that was just for 4oz! Eww I am still trying to find something other than the EAS AdvantEDGE carb control. We have a place here in town that has Protein shakes-they let you taste test. So I am hitting there this weekend!
