April surgeries
@cdevine1 congrats on your upcoming surgery. I suggest having all your Vitamins couple different protein powders, sf gello, sf popsicles, and whatever else is on your list of can eat the first week after surgery. I suggest not buying too much because our taste buds tend to change after surgery but do have at least a week worth of what you need awaiting you when you arrive home from the hospital. There's a young lady on here who's surgeon recommend a month supply on hand when you come home from the hospital But that will be your personal preference of how much.

Did anyone else put on a ton of weight from all the Iv fluids and gas? I came on 11lbs heavier than what I weighed in the hospital the afternoon of surgery.

@emirn1 hey there. Yes I'm hanging in here taking it day by day. Everything went well. Pain was controlled very easily. Came home Thursday evening. My biggest issues at this time is the massive gas that I can't seem to pass no matter what and just feeling exhausted going up and down stairs in my home. By the time I reach the top it's like my heart is about to jump out my chest and have a hard time catching my breadth.

April surgeries
Hello everyone my revision from sleeve to RNY was April 11th. Everything went well. Pain was controlled very well. At no point was it intolerable. I came home Thursday evening. My biggest problem is gas. My stomach and back is filled with gas and nothing's moving it. I've been walking taking gas-x using heating pad. Nothing is working. Just sent my hubby to the drug store to grab mylacon drops and hope maybe that will help. Any suggestions on the gas?. Silly me put on a sports bra to go to the store to grab protein water and the darn sports bra ripped the glue right out of the incision between my breast. It look like it will be ok but I asked my hunny to grab some steri strips as well. I don't know what the heck I was thinking. Thought since it wasn't a wire it would be ok.

Surgery Tomorrow I'm So Scared
@nocturnalgemi thank you for your kind words and support. I'm definitely going to share with my surgical team/anesthesiologist about my anxiety. From your lips to Gods ears that I will wake up like I've had a long nap and not feel a thing.

Surgery Tomorrow I'm So Scared
Can't believe my day has come. I've been trying to mentally prepare but now that the time has come I'm petrified. So many thoughts running through my head. Worried about not waking up and uncontrollable pain when I awaken from surgery. I'm being revised from Sleeve to RNY due to severe GERD having hernia repair as well. Been on Clear liquids only all day just feeling awful in every way.

What Are You Packing To Take To The Hospital?
@Shrinking_Shamrock Wow thanks! great thoughts to ponder and suggestive ideas. ear plugs and sleep mask sound perfect. I got literally no sleep when i had my VSG in 2014. If the nurses weren't coming in to do vitals I could hear this dinging sound from the hall, someone dropped something very loudly, my husband snoring hahahaha. Great suggestions. Reading it's never easy tells me to prepare for an uphill battle huh? UGH i am so scared of the pain.

@bs19gal@MelissaH74@emirn1 now that you guys have crossed over tell me, was it as bad as we all are anticipating? The pain was manageable and was never unbearable? What would you say was the hardest part this far. CONRAGTS TO YOU ALL!! I'm so happy all went well and looking forward to following your journeys.

@bs19gal I had sleeve April 14 2014 and I was told to not to take any NSAID's. I am being revised to RNY April 11th but I would suggest to confirm with your surgeon just to be sure. NSAIDS can cause problems down the line but even more so to the healing tummy. Please just double check with your surgeon.

What Are You Packing To Take To The Hospital?
@10stackzz did you have RNY and if so how bad was the pain when you woke up after surgery? If you have Sleep Apnea did you have to bring your CPAP machine?

Depression and withdraw.
So sorry you're feeling this way. I've had WLS friends that have had similar feelings post-op. Surgery fix our tummies not to hold so much food but it doesn't help our mind or addictive ways. Big hug to you!! Maybe you should contact your surgeons office and share what your feeling and see what he or she advise. No one knows you better than yourself so take a moment to think about what would help pull you out of this place? Would reflecting on why you've embarked upon this journey help or maybe reflect over pictures of yourself at a size you're striving to get back to. Find something within yourself to turn your thoughts towards all your gaining by having WLS. hang I there and we are all here to support you. It does get better. You got this you can do this ????
