  1. Hi there! Scheduled for revision from sleeve to RNY due to severe GERD. I've been vegan since October 16. I absolutely love plant based diet. Currently using Raw Fit Protein which is a vegan protein powder. It has 28 grams of protein and taste great. Looking to connect with a mentor or mentors that follow a plant based diet. Totally fine connecting with those that aren't as well.
  2. Hi There! RevIsed to RNY April 11th and suffering from gas pains. I've been walking taking g gas-x and using a heating pad. Nothing is helping. Any other suggestions?? I'm pretty desperate.

@cdevine1 congrats on your upcoming surgery. I suggest having all your Vitamins couple different protein powders, sf gello, sf popsicles, and whatever else is on your list of can eat the first week after surgery. I suggest not buying too much because our taste buds tend to change after surgery but do have at least a week worth of what you need awaiting you when you arrive home from the hospital. There's a young lady on here who's surgeon recommend a month supply on hand when you come home from the hospital But that will be your personal preference of how much.

@ColleenErin1974 thanks dear. Hmmmm didn't think about the difference that sounds plausible as to why it's not working.

Did anyone else put on a ton of weight from all the Iv fluids and gas? I came on 11lbs heavier than what I weighed in the hospital the afternoon of surgery.

@emirn1 hey there. Yes I'm hanging in here taking it day by day. Everything went well. Pain was controlled very easily. Came home Thursday evening. My biggest issues at this time is the massive gas that I can't seem to pass no matter what and just feeling exhausted going up and down stairs in my home. By the time I reach the top it's like my heart is about to jump out my chest and have a hard time catching my breadth.

Hello everyone my revision from sleeve to RNY was April 11th. Everything went well. Pain was controlled very well. At no point was it intolerable. I came home Thursday evening. My biggest problem is gas. My stomach and back is filled with gas and nothing's moving it. I've been walking taking gas-x using heating pad. Nothing is working. Just sent my hubby to the drug store to grab mylacon drops and hope maybe that will help. Any suggestions on the gas?. Silly me put on a sports bra to go to the store to grab protein water and the darn sports bra ripped the glue right out of the incision between my breast. It look like it will be ok but I asked my hunny to grab some steri strips as well. I don't know what the heck I was thinking. Thought since it wasn't a wire it would be ok.
  9. Can't believe my day has come. I've been trying to mentally prepare but now that the time has come I'm petrified. So many thoughts running through my head. Worried about not waking up and uncontrollable pain when I awaken from surgery. I'm being revised from Sleeve to RNY due to severe GERD having hernia repair as well. Been on Clear liquids only all day just feeling awful in every way.

@nocturnalgemi thank you for your kind words and support. I'm definitely going to share with my surgical team/anesthesiologist about my anxiety. From your lips to Gods ears that I will wake up like I've had a long nap and not feel a thing.

@littleme032017 Congrats on your surgery and I am so glad the pain is under control.
  17. @Shrinking_Shamrock Wow thanks! great thoughts to ponder and suggestive ideas. ear plugs and sleep mask sound perfect. I got literally no sleep when i had my VSG in 2014. If the nurses weren't coming in to do vitals I could hear this dinging sound from the hall, someone dropped something very loudly, my husband snoring hahahaha. Great suggestions. Reading it's never easy tells me to prepare for an uphill battle huh? UGH i am so scared of the pain.
  18. I'm wondering what everyone's taking to the hospital???? My packing list: robe to cover my big hinny while I'm walking the floor after surgery slippers charger for phone and ipad toiletries & toothbrush hair brush & scrunchie loose fitting clothing to wear home or dress (tummy will be tender so I don't want any pressure on it)
  19. Sleeved 4/14/14 did well with my sleeve. Severe GERD meds not providing relief. Scheduled to be revised to RNY 4/11. Just looking to hear from others that's had a revision. Very worried about extreme pain after surgery and how different will life be with the bypass in comparison to my sleeve.

@bs19gal@MelissaH74@emirn1 now that you guys have crossed over tell me, was it as bad as we all are anticipating? The pain was manageable and was never unbearable? What would you say was the hardest part this far. CONRAGTS TO YOU ALL!! I'm so happy all went well and looking forward to following your journeys.

@bs19gal I had sleeve April 14 2014 and I was told to not to take any NSAID's. I am being revised to RNY April 11th but I would suggest to confirm with your surgeon just to be sure. NSAIDS can cause problems down the line but even more so to the healing tummy. Please just double check with your surgeon.
  25. @10stackzz did you have RNY and if so how bad was the pain when you woke up after surgery? If you have Sleep Apnea did you have to bring your CPAP machine?
