  1. Anyone on insulin therapy? what is your dosing schedule like? Im 10 weeks pregnant and I see the diabetic speciaist tomorrow ...advice /thoughts/Im nervous...i wanna keep my baby safe....this is my first baby! Aww lil one is so cute! Im 11 months post op -- ...Im having a hard time keeping up with the Protein and calorie intake...this kid is hungry!! I also had the surgery due to infertility...this is my first baby at 39 yrs of age!! Im considered high risk cuz of my age and bariatric surgery/diabetes
  2. Im 39 years old and pregnant with my first baby! I am 12 months post op right now I did not reach my goal weight but I got the sleeve so that i could become more fertile and now my lil bean is growing! Yay Im so happy!
  3. Surgery will work for you just at a slower rate At this point I've lost 43 lbs and lots of body fat looks like I lost 60 lbs I'm 5'8 Sw 283 cw 235 I am diabetic on one med now And only levothyroxine Hopefully eventually I will be off my diabetes meds soon! I'm happy with my progress so far!
  4. I'm 9 months post op! I haven't lose lbs in a while too! It's the carbs huh?!! I eat toast and and hamburger bun with my patty! I eat about 100 carbs! Oh no I better turn it down!
  5. When your hubby walks right passed you at Target and texts you 'where are you'!?? lolol When a security guard at works stops you in the hallway and says ' hey you lost weight huh you look great! With a huge smile on his face! I felt flattered....

  7. Thanks to everyone on this post for sharing your story as to what has been working for you... I have been eating too many carbs...I do have bread on a weekly basis...either with toast with my coffee or make a hamburger and have a bun too! I do eat greek yogurt and veggies and Beans too Im on mfp...my username is huligoo! I would love to be mfp buddies too! Hope you all had an awesome Easter!

  9. Wow! Your diabetes is gone! Whoohoo! I am a type 2 diabetic 9 months post op..but I am off two meds--insulin and actos pills---now only on METFORMIN Yay! Ive been a diabetic since I was 20 years old... My am #'s are usually in the 110 range in the afternoon Im usually in the 120 range... The lowest Ive had it post op was 104...so I feel Im having good progress... I hope and pray one day...I can be like you TYPE @ long gone!! My A1C is going down slowly...and iM losing my weight slowly too...I do have hypothyroidsm... But hey having way less meds is a godsend! I feel soooo much better and just each day is better for me!! So happy I got sleeved! I would love to know more about your story! thanks! take care!
  10. Wow! Soocalchic..you have done amazing!! Im a lil over 9 months out and stalled big time!! Im plateau right now at 237..Im doing zumba classes and trying to have a goal of walking 10 miles a week! I do have some health issues still...hypothyroidism and..type 2 diabetes..(off two meds;now only one med YAY) I would love to hear what worked for you so far....thanks a bunch.. I eat every 5 hours...

  12. Hi! I'm not in long beach but went to Downey kaiser! My surgery was at Harbor city kaiser ! Did u do kaiser options yet? I have no complications and I'm feeling great!

  15. I'm 9months post op Hypothyroid I take 1.0 mcg of levothyroxine I'm insulin resistant still I am also a slow loser too! Ugh Pre surgery I was taking insulin NPH relics a day ; actos pills 4 a day and Metformin 2000 Mgs a day Now I'm post op I ONLY take Metformin one on am one in pm-- this is awesome!! So glad I got sleeved ! My Sw was 283 I am now 237 I only take levothyroxine and Metformin that's it I do have pcos - I don't ovulate on my own at all That's why I had surgery bcuz I want a baby! Been married 10 years and no luck! My ob/gym suggested I get the surgery Here I am! I'm a work in progress but I'm content with my progress I need 60 more lbs to go

My name is Evie I'm 39 years old got married in 2004 Been type 2 diabetic since I was 20 years old Hubby n I have no kids been infertile due to my weight and diabetes my weight was up to about 300 lbs! Drs had done all the fertility testing HSG , endometrial biopsy, ultrasounds , hormone panels and everything looked fine! My gyno suggested I get the sleeve surgery ! I was shocked and insulted at the same time! I guess it was a reality check! Uncontrolled diabetes on several medications even thyroid meds! My Sw 300 weight surgery day 276 cw 237 I went through kaiser harbor city for my sleeve surgery. I have had no complications. I'm still diabetic but my meds have been reduced by 75% Only taking Metformin pills now! Yay!!! My hubby is a 3rd grade teacher and I am a para-educator in special ed for high school students with learning disabilities! Now that I am post op with the sleeve surgery I feel so much better about life I'm not depressed like I was back then! I can see a light at the end of the tunnel! I hope to have a baby some day soon too! Now that most of my stomach is long gone the ghrelin hormone is gone too! I'm not hungry/starving all the time! I have less mood swings and my pcos is better too! My family was opposed to me getting the surgery ! They kept saying your gonna die! You will not wake up from the surgery ! My own family saying this to me! I went for it and I am so glad I did! I am happier and healthier than I have ever been! Plus my marriage is happier too because I'm not sickly or in dumps all the time! Yay me! Be brave! Investigate your surgeon! And begin your new life post op! It's not easy but worth it! Take care everyone !

  18. talk with your drs and your nutritionist.. you will be okay keep hydrated eat enough Protein.. congrats! Thats why i got this surgery...I want a baby...maybe sometime soon... take care

SW 283 CW 240 Type 2 on ONLY metformin (off two other meds for diabetes); thyroid med( levothyroid);still on them at this point post-op I have been stalled for while now--possibly 5 weeks at the same weight of 240 I am losing iches but my weight doesnt move... Anyone that has LOST 50 pounds or more please guide me/give me advice...I need to change things up some more! What is working for you...what is your daily menu/exercise routine I wanna lose 40 MORE lbs I would love to hear some feedback for you guys THANKS!
  21. I can choke down orange and the blur raspberry.. Premier Protein shakes cause me to pass out from Protein shock and i get super nauseous!! Isopure is tolerable..but hey everyone is different..buy a couple of bottles to try it out
  22. When i was doing the preop diet I had 3 Protein shakes a day and my sugars were in the 250 range!! My body was starving for food...and I felt so sick and awful...headache and nausea so baaad!!! I had such a hard time! but now im post op..sugars are in the 110 -130 range...on less meds ONLY ONE med instead of THREE Im happier and healither...Im a slow loser but hey...Its happening and I dont regret getting sleeved at all
  23. Hey this sounds like me... My diabetes is better but NOT gone... My numbers are usually in the 110-130's Im not good with my water intake I drink maybe one water bottle... For breakfast I have 2 hard boiled eggs and coffee lunch; Protein and veggies dinner; protein and Beans or veggies Im probably under calories and stalling big time at this point! Im frustrated!.. I am healthier and on less meds..so that is still good..i wanna do better!
