From what I read it happened to many of us, excruciating headaches. I understand it was weaning off caffeine and I was very dehydrated the day of surgery so one of the other or both. My husband had the headaches too. We went cold turkey off caffeine, no coffee and no diet cokes.

I get headaches from consuming aspartame. Check your artificial sweetener and yogurt products and take note of what you're eating when they come on.

I suffer from Migraines and low blood sugar is often a trigger. I used to skip Breakfast and not eat my first meal until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. At that point my blood sugar levels have crashed and often a headache would result. Now I eat a high Protein Shake or 3-4 scrambled egg whites in the morning. WHAT you eat may be key. Avoid carbohydrates if possible.

Mine eased up on day 4. Lemon ginger tea from Walmart helped me. I use stevia instead of aspartame. Hang in there u can do it!

I got them throughout my pre op liquid diet and I know it wasn't because of no caffeine because I have been caffeine free for like a year. On those days broth seemed to help. So far post op I haven't had any headaches.

I'm a Migraine suffer. Had them under control until surgery. Since then I had an attach every day. Hoping when I'm at goal my Migraines will be gone forever. I didn't suffer with them when I was normal weight.

I was in the er this week with a 3 day Migraine. If you have had wls, you could be dehydrated. The er doctor told me most people that have wls surgery (not all) are dehydrated. I was severely dehydrated and has to get 2 bags of fluids with migraine meds. I thought I was getting enough Water, but I wasn't. Just something to consider :)

I drink (drank!) a lot of caffinated drinks (mostly coffee/tea). So, in anticipation of my surgery I weened myself off of caffeine. I drink Decaf tea now and I am also increasing my Water intake to 2L / day. Drinking the Water helped flush out the toxins so if you are stopping caffeine, drink water like crazy! It really helps!

My counsellor at WLF said they want us to eat plan, greek yogurt - if we need to add vanilla (a drop for baking) to it that makes it yummy or spices (eg. Epicure spice dip mixes) or even add in some crystal light powder to flavour it. even greek yogurt with vanilla already in it has stuff we should probably never eat. It's all just a new life .... :P

I sent a message a minute ago & I have know idea where it ended up. Sorry, I'm just learning the site.I absolutely love fresh ground nutmeg & cinnamon on my yogurt. It's worth a try if you like the spices.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
