I would say when you are off any pain meds and don't feel exhausted. It is different for every one. I don't work, but it was over two weeks until I didn't feel like a zombie by early afternoon.

If you have the time (sick, vacation, medical, FMLA, etc), I would be kind to yourself and take 2 weeks off before returning to your desk job. It is not just about being off the pain meds in order to drive, but also having enough energy to make it through the work day.

I took 2 weeks then couldn't do it. I was so weak and tired. I ended up taking 3 more weeks off after.

Everyone Is different, and every surgery is different. I was back at work 4 days after gallbladder removal, and three weeks after hysterectomy, but four weeks after VSG.

Everyone is different, that's for sure. I'm retired but could have easily gone back to work after a week.

I took 2 weeks initially but ended up adding a third. I did have a minor complication with my surgery and ended up back in the hospital and that made recovery a little harder. It was nice to have the extra week just to get used to drinking and learning how and what to eat each day.

I took 6 weeks and needed it, not only for the physical healing, and for the retraining of the brain of how to eat on the clock and researching the best foods you can eat to succeed! And just get mentally prepared to live a different but better life!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
