Pre-Op Liver Diet

Recommended Posts

Finally found out the details of my Pre-Op Liver Diet. It will be 14 days long and consist of 5 Glucerna shakes a day and Clear liquids. Makes me think I'm going to be really hungry. I start on 2-20-14. Who else had a Liver Diet like this one and how was it?

Thanks,

Dana

I'm on a one week liquid diet. I have to drink 5 protien drinks a day, I just started Wednesday. Having to force five Protein Shakes down is consuming most of my mind so much that I haven't even realized that I'm not eating. lol But I'm not complaining so much because I've already lost 6lbs.

Pre-Op Liver Diet.

Dana,

never heard of a pre-op diet called "pre-op liver diet"

but what is in a name??? :)

of course the pre-op is to lose weight, and make the liver smaller so the surgery is easier for the docs to perform

as with many things, you'll find.............

"the one thing we all have in common, is that we're all different"!!!!

my surgeon didn't require pre-op diet

i've heard others have it for a few days or a week - or maybe like you, 2 weeks!!!!

"glucerna" shakes 5x a day

that is alot to drink!!!!

but you can do it!!!!! i know you can :)

I "think" many/most people are told to have Clear Liquids for X amount of days prior to surgery

liquids will/should become your "friend ;) "

after surgery, you will be only on liquids for awhile per your surgeon

your tummy will be healing

shortly after, you are supposed to "down"/drink 64 oz of Water a day :o

march is the best month for sleeve surgery ;)

good luck

speedy recovery :)

kathy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
