How many calories per day?

Recommended Posts

8 months post op.

Is 1200 cals too much?

I usually vary between 800-1100 most days but every once in while I catch myself hitting 12, even 1300 per day.

Is that alright?

Please feel free to slam me. I do not want to screw up!

It might depend on: how active you are, how much you exersise, what kind of calories you are eatting, do you stagger the numbers (eat more one day fewer the next) and etc. Do you see a nutitionist for information and guidence? Hope some of these questions help you answer yourself in the right direction. Remember calories in should equal the amount of calories burned and congrats on your weight loss so far it is so very exciting! You may even want to consider taking a college nutrition course to even further understand what your nutritionist is talking with you about. Good luck :D

Thanks Mandie, those are good ideas. I Def want to talk to a nutritionist.

I stagger the caloric fluctuation, eat healthy, plenty of Protein and whatnot. Pretty active.

Thanks for the advice!

If u plan on losing more weight..it would seems that your max should be 1100 calories per day if over 5 months ..That is what was given to me by my nut ..

Yes and exercise is a also a component in determining your caloric intake. It also depends on how fast u want to lose. 2 pounds per week to me is reasonable since u have had the surgery April 2013.

Calories in <. Calories expended is the equation for continued weight loss.

Figure how many pounds u want to lose per week (3500 calorie deficit = one pound loss). I would do a MedGen to find out what your resting metabolic rate is since u have been on the program for a while. That is a starting point for u

I had gastric sleeve 4 months ago. I have lost 36 lbs. Is that good or bad...also I am now averaging 3 lbs a month for weight lost. Doesn't seem like that is enough. we are iced in and I cannot get out and walk or exercise like I should...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
