Anyone else addicted to food network?

Recommended Posts

I've always LOVED to cook and cater. Still do. I'm 10 days post op, have to be on liquids till 2/21. Then puréed foods. Can't stop watching the food network, already cooked huge dinners for husband and kids, then kick myself for smelling, seeing, WANTING a taste. Am I insane?!? What the hell? I think I must've been dropped on my head during the surgery. Just venting...

i had to drop the food Network and other food shows cold turkey....I mean I had to drop them like a hot potato...I mean I used to watch them all like I was coo coo for Cocoa Puffs. O K this analogy clearly isn't working. But what I am trying to say is that the commercials are tempting enough.

Sounds like you might be a pretty good cook. Let's face it. You are still going to have to eat for the rest of your life. And since you are the cook, you can control the ingredients. Just remember...Taste everything - eat nothing if you are the cook. Portion Control will be your best friend going forward.

Thanks, Miss Mac. I may have to send the food network to the disposal. It's a deep love of cooking-I rarely ate a lot THEN, but I DO appreciate a good meal/restaurant

I love the food Network and am a Pintrest addict. So far I have found that I still love to cook and try out new recipes, I just don't feel the need to eat a lot of it. The main thing that I changed though is my focus is more on Protein dense foods and vegetables instead of carb loaded meals and/or sweets. I think perspective is the key :)

I love the food network. It might sound weird but it kind of excites me to see all this food not to the point where I crave or want it I've been good on that. It just interest me. So I watch it just about every other day. Also I like to know what other people (family friends) are eating for dinner. It's very weird of me feeling this.

I love watching Diners Drive-ins and Dives. I've been watching it a bunch while I was off of work post surgery, and am trying to get ideas for WLS friendly recipes that are based on stuff I see on the show.

Since I've been off of work I became addicted to "diner, drive ins and dives" and chopped, doesn't really make me hungry I just find all the crazy ingredients interesting and try to incorporate them in some of the foods I can eat to spice things up a little bit.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
