I got my surgery day for early march today! One of my biggest concerns right now is my hair so I'm looking for any tips.

I have super long, super thick hair. It's a little over midway down my back. I have to keep it brushed almost constantly or it gets really ratty. I'm not so much concerned with how it looks, but I'm worried about keeping it tangle free while I'm in the hospital and at home recovering. I can always pull it back but it still tends to fall down and get tiny knots. I'm also terrible at braiding so that's not much of an option unless I can find someone to do it for me.

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

I went and had mine braided before surgery. I went to a beauty school and they did a great job at a cheep price.

Braid it or put it in a pony tail. You won't be in there long enough (hopefully) to worry about it. At least you won't have the "bed head" us folks with short hair have. My hair was the LAST thing on my mind after surgery.

I had 12" of hair on the day of my surgery. I put it in a ponytail. The day after surgery a student nurse washed it and combed it for me. I kept my hair for a month after surgery and had no issues with it. I have since cut it and donated it to Wigs4Kids.

I have really long hair. I braided it for surgery and I brought dry Shampoo to wash it with.

I have medium length hair, during my 5 day hospital stay I had a wonderful nurse who asked if she could French braid my hair! She did it for me twice! I asked her if she did this for lots of her patients and she said she almost never did it however she loves to braid. She told me that I looked like someone who would like her hair braided. I had wonderful nurses! If you can ask a friend to braid it for you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
