over eating

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved in September and I haven't had issues of over eating but this past weekend I think it happened. I ate a small cup if corn and I think it had way to much butter, cheese and other Mexican style fixings. I started to feel sick shortly after eating it. I felt like vomiting but I was just gagging alot. Finally just a little of flem looking stuff or spit. I'm guessing that is what everyone us calling the slimey stuff. This happened to me long time ago only once but didn't know why. I'm a bit confused and I didn't like how I felt. The next day on Sunday I didn't think I ate much but felt the same way again. I thought that if u over ate u would puck up the food again. But not much of what I ate came back up, mostly spit or whatever that stuff is. Anyone gave this issue who could shed some light for me. I'm not knowing what's going on. Help

My doctor said no to corn. It is one food to stay away from.

You have definitely had the slimies . . . my dietician's instructions say if you experience them, ask yourself,

--did I eat too much?

--did I eat too fast?

--were my bites too big?

--did I eat the wrong food?

Because the slimies are always caused by at least one of these things. Slow down, eat less, take smaller bites. And I agree with Christian and Sherry above, corn probably isn't a great choice. Hard to digest for most people, plus frankly, it's almost nutrition-free. I'm not allowed any corn whatsoever in weight loss phase.

The only way that the body can even remotely break down corn is if it is ground. The only purpose corn serves otherwise is to go right through almost the same consistency as it went in...fiber that is it.....

Most likely all the fat a long with the corn caused you the problems. I would find another food to replace that one as with our new stomach there is limited food space. Think Protein first and a couple of bites of the other things after....

i get the slimies at least once every other week. It's gross, and not fun, but in my case, it's always because I ate a bite or 2 more than what my sleeve is telling me to eat. I try to learn from it. Even if I ate a half cup of something yesterday, today might only be a 1/4 cup. Corn is not on my radar right now, but it sounds like it is not your friend.

Yep. You slimed, girl!
I can eat corn with no issues, but a lot of people can't.
That being said, for ME what causes the slimes is when I eat too much. It's not WHAT I eat but HOW MUCH I eat that does it. So that's something to think about as well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
