Almost 7 years post op - gained half back. Recommiting

Recommended Posts

Hello

I too, am felling very frustrated and upset since getting the lap band. I am three years out, and I have gained back at least 20 lbs. I feel as if I was not informed enough about the whole process. I lost most of my weight during the fasting before the surgery. After the surgery I only lost another 20 lbs. so I lost 65 lbs. all together. I am about an hour away from the hospital and I am a high school theater and communications teacher. I simply cannot get there for any meetings or support groups. I am at school most nights with my extracurricular activities. I have only had 4 fills this whole time. I had a really bad bout of an overfill and I got so sick that they removed the Fluid and told me to just heal. Then I became so scared of having that happen again, so I think I really messed up the next fill. As a result, I just never get full. I can eat just as much as I ever did, I just avoid certain foods like bread or thick meats.

I wish I had been given information about the sleeve and the band, and then maybe I would have made a different decision. I am a stress eater , an emotional eater. I am just feeling so frustrated and confused right now. I have even thought about just having it removed and just going back to Weight Watchers yet again.

I had my band emptied after a csection and tubligation due to reflux issues and gained nearly 20 lbs and I had it filled gradually up to 6 cc and for weeks I aspirated and Fluid came up my nose at night while tried to sleep. I was choking on my own mucous and it was terrible I lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks but was suffering so bad it wasn't worth it do yesterday I went back and they emptied 2 cc from my band and I feel great but sm worried I will gain again. I'm trying my best to work hard on maintaining but it's very hard

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
