I love water and i cant stop drinking it

Recommended Posts

When I had my surgery dec 30 and cleared to drink on the 31st I couldn't even drink a sip of plain Water. I was drinking juices diluted with water. Week 2, I went back to work and I had water and fell in love. I don't just sip, I can drink 2-4oz at a time within seconds. I drink a 16oz bottle at night. I literally wake up several times a night for water. First thing in the morning I drink oz. I never drank juices after that day I started drinking plain water. I was a coca cola addict and guess what? I don't miss it at all. I don't miss juices and I have no interest in them. Is this normal guys? Like I can drink a whole bottle within minutes.... I hope so..

The only thing I really dislike is not being able to drink after I eat. Today for the first time after my meal I waited only 15min and had a sip of water and I had to vomit. That is when I realized that yes I did have the sleeve haha.. But right now I am on my second bottle.

Ohh did I mention that I am getting 80g of Protein a day and taking all my Vitamins? Please knock on wood that this doesn't change. And my carbs are low and so is sugar and fat. I workout 3 times a week and walk Monday-Friday during lunch. I am so freaking motivated to workout that I never want to stop.

Ok going back to doing my homework just wanted to share this with you guys..

So is this normal? I'm not going to die from this right haha..

Your doing fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Water intake is amazing.........I still struggle to get all mine in everyday...........Before I was sleeved I drank 3 liters every day maybe more...now if i get 60 ounces in I am shocked...

I can drink it up too...fast and smooth...But I take small mouthfuls and don't guzzle..

Still not getting all my Protein in either...I am still working on that...I love veggies and so it gets in the way sometimes of the dense protein...Starting to drink a Protein Drink or bar every day so it is helping.............

Your doing great better then some of us Vets...oops...me that is!!!!

Thank you guys :)

Honestly I never struggled with Water after week one but I struggled with Protein until I started phase 3 couple days ago. Once I was cleared to eat tuna, thin sliced turkey and cheese and Protein Bars I increased my Protein up to 80.. And I still can't believe it. As for the Vitamins, I'm not taking the one my doctor recommended but I got some other ones at my pharmacy that I can tolerate. Ohh and I have my co-worker to remind me every day haha

You will all get there soon enough :)

Just wait until you are a year post op and more. You will be able to drink a lot, especially if you are very active. I still do not like plain Water much at 18 months, but will drink it that way if I must (tap or bottle). My water intake is about 2.5 liters daily and about right considering my activity and current weight. I flavor it every time though. :) By the way, water is my only liquid. I remember struggling to drink an ounce 3 days after surgery and look how far I have come. It will take months / years to build up, so do tale your time. I think at 6 months my intake was about 120 oz a day.

Sounds great to me! I used to guzzle a 20 oz bottle of Water or Powerade in under a minute and loved it! But at this point I still have to drink slowly and struggle with 64oz because I'm so full all the time. I'm glad it's winter and I hope I'm as successful as you with the drinking thing by summertime when I'm hot and dying of thirst at work.

I still struggle with plain Water - pre-surgery I was all about Water. Loved it - plain water from the tap.

Since surgery, I cannot stomach plain water. I try, but I just can't do it. It's like sandpaper going down. I drink Propel Zero and recently started putting in Real Orange or Real Lemon packets in it. It's better.

Hi! I was sleeved on dec 30th too. I just wanted to say I think u are doing fantastic!! I can't guzzle Water but I can take a mouthful and swallow then again and again. Hit liquid goes down better for me. I'm not getting my full 80 g in Protein though. I'm working on that. I've only gotten sick on catfish (1.5 oz) and egg salad. It sounds like u are doing everything right. Post often I'm interested in those that share my sleeve bday! Lol

I'm 5 months out and I struggle with water... Makes my stomach cramp and sits like a rock unless it's a cup full of ice with a little amount of Water.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
