Is that normal for 4.5 weeks post op? I see my NUT Friday but I cannot eat more than that in one sitting.... just wondering if that is OK since I see lots about people eating 1/4 cup

6-8 bites seems like it would be close to 1/4 cup. Have you measured it?

I am at 4 weeks now. I can measure 1/3 cup of my Protein item and 2 tablespoons of something else, and I seem to never finish the last bite.

I have a question related to this topic. When there is a reference to a certain amount of ounces one can eat based on their sleeve size or the amount recommended by their doc.... Is the reference in ounces of volume or weight???

6-8 bites is pretty average when you first start eating food again. You will find some days you can eat more than others. I am 7 months post op and this still happens with me. I consider it a bonus day when I can have a little more than normal. Nonsleevers would laugh at what we call bonus extra because it really doesn't add up to much but for us it's awesome! :)

I am just about 4 weeks out. I can only get about the same amount of food in at 1 time. 6-8 bites. I am starting to get more fluids in at a time. This helps . 1 question would be how big a bite are you taking. Tsp. Tblspion. Forkful? Being in purieed stage. I use nothing but a teaspoon. Keep up the great work. It is a great day to have a sleeve. Go sleevers!!!

Recycled, ounces refer to weight. Volume is measured by teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, etc. Generally, for liquids, 2 tablespoons is one ounce. That doesn't hold true for all foods, though. Just think how much volume there is in one ounce of puffed wheat, for example - a whole Cereal bowlful.

I'm right at 4 1/2 weeks also. For purée type foods I can only eat 2 Tb. I am now allowed soft meats. I can only take 2-3 tiny (and I mean tiny) bites and I'm full.

My bites are about the size of a dime-nickle ...that being the bigest. I guess it adds up to around 2 tablespoons..I am trying regular foods now too...

I think this is my biggest struggle yet...its not a bad struggle .... just hard to wrap my brain around sitting down to eat and barely being able to eat. I feel like I am not eating LOL Its a good problem, just trying to adjust.

I'm almost 6 weeks out and I can't eat more than 2 oz at a time. I tried 4 oz a few times and I was in pain.

I'm 13 weeks out and most times I can't get much more than maybe 2 ounces of anything solid...yogurts I can get up to about 3.5 ounces. I used to measure...then the numbness wore off and I could easily tell when I was full. Turns out it doesn't take much...I call my sleeve Gloria and she's temperamental. Some days she hates food...other days like today, she feels like a garbage disposal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
