One month weigh in :(

Recommended Posts

I know there are a million threads of disappointments about stalls etc on this board, but sorry you have to hear one more time as I am kind of disappointed at my one month weigh in today. I've stayed off the scales for over two weeks so I wouldn't be disappointed but it didn't work. My heightism weight pre op was 267. Day of surgery 262. One week post op weigh in 247. Down 15 pounds! However I am sad to report that 3 weeks and 3 days I'm only down 6 more pounds. I do admit that I look like I've lost more and my clothes are pouring off of me but I guess I'm a metrics type of girl. At least it's headed in the right direction and i haven't felt this good in a long time.

Good luck everyone. Headed to the city to walk around Central Park.

I feel you... I've been on a stall for the past 10 days :( .. Monday will be 3 weeks and I decided not to weigh myself until next Saturday and I am really disappointed. I eat right and work out so don't get what the problem is :(

So you have lost 21 pounds in a month and you are disappointed?

Hmmm….That's pretty darn good in my opinion.

How much were you expecting?

You know. I don't even know. I guess with the majority of it being in the first week I just haven't gotten that same thrill. But you're right. 21 pounds in a month is good. Haven't done it before now.

I am just shy of my one month mark and I have lost 21lbs. I would say my diet is 95%. Hang in there, we can do it!

Another thing is that I've only "pooped" two times in the past month. I have taken Miralax and nothing. Yesterday, my husband juiced for me with a whole lot of veggies. Nothing. I took benafiber. Nothing.

I know I have not eaten a whole lot of solids these past 4 weeks but surely something should be coming out!

Any suggestions?

Sometimes just looking at things from a different angle can do the trick. You have done great this first month! Keep up the great work! :)

As far as the Constipation, it can get ugly real fast. Just because you have not eaten solids you have likely consumed a lot of Protein, that is a big poop maker. You can become impacted and that is not pretty. You may be beyond the point of "gentle relief." It may be time to call in the big guns. Meaning suppositories or an enema. I found out the hard way. It was not pretty and it had me crying like a baby.

Once you get relief, you will need to stay on top of it. Constipation is one of the biggest problems in the first few months where you are on a lot of Protein and little Fiber. I needed to put miralax in my Protein shakes everyday for a few months. I still to this day (over 10 months out) take Fiber gummys.

It's one of the biggest ongoing problems a lot of WLS folks have.

Omg! I didn't know that! I just assumed there was nothing there! I'm going to take it another level tonight to see if that helps. Thanks so much!

I am 9 days out of surgery and have lost 28 pounds. Today was the first day I haven't lost anything. But wow 28 pounds in less than 2 weeks, pretty happy. My daughter will be hiding the scale until Friday.

I really want to try on some clothes but my stomach is so bloated, can anyone tell me when this horrible bloating will go away.

This is my first post????

Seriously though, what has your doctors said about weighing yourself at home? Do they tell you to do it everyday, weekly or only when you visit the doctor's office?

I feel the scale is enemy number one and as a CPA myself I can relate to the numbers game.

We have similar numbers. My surgery date was 12/16 and I started at 262 after an 18 lb loss on my pre op diet. I am now at 241. I think you (we) have done a great job! I tell myself that as long as I follow my plan, my body is gonna do what it wants so no need to worry about what I can't control. Hang in there! I tell myself all the time that I have to have a little faith in this process but with so many failures under my belt it is hard!

Well in all honesty I don't have a doctor, just lost my healthcare coverage and job. I am following my post- op instructions to the "T" because I am so afraid of any complications.

Maybe I was wrong weighing myself over the last 6 days. After being 140 pounds overweight for the last year i think it made me want to see something good for once.

The scale is hidden for a week at a time, that is the most I can promise.

Try Milk of Magnesia. Take 1 Tbsp. in the evening and it should help the next morning. Good luck!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
