My husband is convinced they will be turning the properties into apartments! Both Dublin clinics are prime property! Don't know about the Galway and Belfast ones. Who knows???

It would make sense Owenstowns a fab building and theres apartments right beside it and Fitzwilliam Square is mostly apartments around it. They will probably start building a big clinic somewhere and then turn the others into apts when the new one opens. As long as we have aftercare somewherethey can do what they like:wink_smile: Wonder what surgeon will be brought over

Hi Girls,

Well that's a turn up for the books. What was the point in sending us a letter if the paper get the information before some of us. And the name of the company is different to the one we were given. What's that all about? Either the paper got it wrong or they are going to be trading under a different name. I'm afraid to say too much on this thread about how I'm feeling about this, because I'm not sure if the Mail has more or less information than us. :o

Hi All

I'm so pretty, so pretty as pretty could be!!! (little danse)

Well my arms were carved nicely today at midday. The doctor was ridiculously goodlooking and I pray that he is older than he looks ( I think he probably is, I dectected a gray hair or 2.

Not too sore. Curious as hell but canget my top off for a look. Going back tomoro for a check up so may get a glimpse then.

He took photos of my "very prominent" tummy and thighs for my upcoming Lipo job next week and assured me that it was indeed a big job as there was a lot of fat. This was anid poking poor old jelly-belly a few times Thanks kind sir. It was not poor Ellie-Jelly-Belly's finest hour.

Viewing my legs, he looked grave and told me I must accept that my legs would always be robust but he would improve certain areas (from that I take it that even the miracles of modern science are facing too great a challenge when it comes to my legs). He can only safely take out about 3 litres so I suspect i still wont be twiggy when they're out.

Pity they dont sell these yokes in Argos and I could take out a pint or 2 every evening while Im watchin TV............................

Hope all well with the ACS people and Ailbhe and Elsie, my belgian friends.

Hi Ellen,

You are so funny :):sneaky:. I'm dying to know how your arms look as I want that op too. I'm very impressed that you're typing away a few hours after the op. I hope the rest of your 'make over' goes as easily as this part has. Best of luck and looking forward to the next installment.:o

I know its weird alright I googled the name we were given in our letters and it just said the company was set up on 28/2/08 didnt give anything else apart from that, seems pretty strange we're told one thing and the paper says something else. Wonder will there be more in tomorrows paper. It said today Helena has retired which I doubt very much:laugh: The threads very quiet wonder where everyone is

Hi Guys,

Its hard to know what to think. I just hope that whoever they are that they get us a qualified surgeon who gave give us the aftercare we have paid for and deserve. I don't want to start having regrets for having the surgery the decision was too momentous for regrets to kick in... Lets hope we hear something concrete soon.

Gerri

Hi Gerri

Yeah hopefully they've their own surgeon organised who'll come over and give us our aftercare. Its pretty worrying alright but I'm sure whoever they are they know what they're doing

Hey folks,

ACS up for sale? Presumably the buyer inherits the duty of care which the seller had towqrds you all. Am dying to find out whats in the papers tomorrow. Does anyone know a website for the Mail on Sunday, couldnt find it last week.

Re the arms, no real pain at all, even managed to go shopping today.

I must share with you all that the delicious doctor visited me in my hotel bedroom today. Sadly, however, he was not harbouring any wicked intentions towards my newly renovated body. Was just checking up on another patient in the hotel and thought he'd save me the trouble of going into the hospital for my checkup.

He dampened my ardour for him considerably by again mentioning the notion of intense muscle exercises in the context of my soon to be flattened tummy. I assured him that this was not a difficulty as I had purchased a slendertone in Boots for this very purpose prior to my trip. Cutiepie was unimpressed. It appears that he had the more laborious type of exercise in mind. Situps and such like. His exact words were 'it wut aff bin cheaper and equally effectiff for you to go to church and light a candle'.

I wonder would anyone be interested in the purchase of a 2nd hand slendertone by any chance?

Oh yes, the ACS property in Galway is in the centre of town and if I recall correctly on its own grounds so I suppose it would be fairly valuable.

All the best to you all.

Hi, great to hear from you, it sounds like you are in really good form. Glad your not in much pain.

Did you not suggest to Dr. Yummy:drool: that he help you exercise:wink2:? I mean he was right there in your room. Another patient in the hotel, likely story!!!!:o:lol:

oooooh. intrigued by yummy doctor. Might go and get some PS just to meet him :o Room service and all!

Glad to hear it didn't hurt too much. Have loads of stretch marks there so I know I'll end up with bingo wings! And I'll be tucking my apron into my knickers. I can see it now!!!

I'll start saving now!

Elsie, how are you going with the mushies?? I'm finding I have less restriction now that the swelling is going down. Weight loss has pretty much stalled. Sigh.

So I'm looking forward to my fill. Now, I just have to remember to book the flippin' appointment! Is Monday a bank holiday in Belgium? Probably not. I might try ringing then. The only time I can ring is work hours and I can picture me on the mobile with a bad connection shouting "a fill. Yes. I had a gastric band...." at the top of my lungs while my colleagues eavesdrop. Monday it is......

Well I have WAY too much time on my hands. I even googled Yummy Doc to see a pix. Definitely a good degree of Hotness going on there.:o Thats my research done on Plastic Surgeons, we have a winner!!!!

Ailbhe: I didn't start on Mushies yet, I THINK I remember the Dr. in the hospital saying 10 days on liquids but the diet info he gave me said 14 days. I was a bit out of it in the hospital so going to stick with the 14 days on liquids instead of 10. I'm doing ok on liquids so figure a few more days wont hurt. I keep forgeting to make my appointment for my post op/fill as well. I just assume there will be no problem, imagine he was fully booked, I'd cry (and book a flight to Belgium). You've done great with your weight loss so far so don't worry about it slowing down, slow and steady wins the race... I've put my scales away for now, I was hopping on and off way too much.

Elsie

p.s. The offer of a lift from train station for our fills still stands if you want it. PM your details when you've made your appointment. Don't worry, I'm not a nutjob (well 7 out of 10 in a survey agreed)

Hey guys, im still here.

I dont have the time to post all the time but i have been keeping up to date on the thread. WTF is going on. ACS has been sold.........:confused2: What next. I didnt get any letter off them, in saying that my post is shite here.

Well I have to share my latest news with you all. I have been doing great, had a great hen weekend, came back in one piece and didnt get too drunk. Then just last monday I broke my toe from stubbing off my bed. IT was basically snapped in half. Went to the VHI clinic, paid them €180 only to be sent to Tallaght Hospital. When I got there I was seen straight away and they strapped it to the next toe and sent me home. They could have done that in VHI. Oh and I had to pay Tallaght €66 too. Anyway im eating rings around myself at the mo. I cant stop. Anything that will slide down im having it. I even had a bowl of coco pops the other day. WTF. And I cant do any exercise as I can hardly walk. Its just not fair. Im getting married in 7 weeks and 4 days and i hope i dont put on any weight. I have been watching the scales this past week and it has moved up a 1lb. I dont know what to do, im so bored. I went to a wedding on Friday and my heart was broke i couldnt even get up to dance, i love dancing i does. What am i going to do??????

Hi Alesha you poor thing thats terrible. I'm sure your toe will be grand again the wedding and you'll be flying around the dance floor with your new hubby:thumbup:. With regard to the eating its such hard work isnt it, we all thought this band was a mirace that would stop us eating and unfortunately it isn't as we've all discovered. When I was getting married (a long time ago now:embaressed_smile:) everyone kept telling me not to worry the weight will fall off with nerves..........as if. The one thing that kept me going was thinking of walking up the aisle with everyone staring at me and I have to say it worked. The very best of luck with it I'm sure you'll be grand. Its so hard. I have a family wedding next week and I swore a few months ago I'd have another stone off and havent lost a lb since I said it:confused2: but as my lovely hubby says it could be worse it could have been this time last year when I weighed over 3 stone heavier:scared2:

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
