Tomorow is the day!

I am new to this forum, but have been lurking for a couple of months. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10:15. I am not too nervous, but a bit apprehensive because my surgeon performs the sleeve as outpatient surgery at a surgery center. I have a few friends who had the surgery and they all were required to stay at least one night in the hospital. The center is a center of excellence, which makes me feel a little better. The nurse told me that I should be discharged by 3:30. I think my husband is more nervous than I am. I have lost 20 pounds in the preop diet phase, which I started about four weeks ago. I attended my consultation appointment on 11/27/13 and can't believe that less than two months later I am going to be sleeved. I think my surgeon is a more strict than others with the post op stages. I will be on Clear Liquids for one week, pureed foods for three weeks, and soft foods for two months. I will start regular food at three months out. I will try and post an update on the surgery tomorrow evening.

Best of luck to you for a speedy recovery from surgery, but I am sure you will do very well. What they say about walking is true. The more you get up and move post-op, the faster you heal. I also found it helped cut down on the need for pain meds for me.

Good luck. Rest and rest the first day I slept just about the whole day the nurse woke me up to talk walk a little and drink some Water I so had a few taste of a sf free popsicle and fell back asleep. Once they allow you to drink sip every 15min that you are awake specially since your at home and won't have any IV to keep you hydrated you need to drink so you won't get dehydrated and try to walk for 5min every hour that you are awake. That's what they had me do at the hospital. Your post op sounds about right I was on liquids for two after. Good luck!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
