OK when you are on soft foods, how did you get everything in in a day. Water, Protein, food. I'm not to that stage yet. I had a set back and had to go back to liquids but I'm just wondering for future reference?

The first few weeks it will feel like you are eating and drinking all the time....and you will be. You'll have to just pace yourself and do your best. I tried to focus on getting the most bang for my buck. A Protein shake high in good quality Protein ( I use Pure Protein) with SMart Balance skim milk 35 grams of protein per cup. Half my daily requirement. If you blend your shakes, know that you will be incorporating air into them. That might be harder initially. I sipped all day on my fluids. Water didnt' go down too easy for me, but Vitamin Water zero did. Still a staple for me. As you heal and the swelling goes down, you'll be able to take in more and get in to a pattern. Measure and track everything. Good luck!! Check out the websites emilybites.com and theworldaccordingtoeggface.com both full of high protein meals for post op.

It's rough & I feel the same way some days but I just keep plugging away & some days r easier than others. I'm definitely not perfect but I just keep working at it because the reward of weight loss, staying hydrated & taking care of the new tummy r worth it. Good luck , you're on your way!

Early out, you just do the best you can ensuring, though, that you get your liquids in. You can end up in the ER due to dehydration, but not because you were short on Protein.

It is hard. I seem to do ok with Protein because if I'm falling short from foods, I'll throw in a shake which solves that. The liquid is hard. It does help to put mio in to flavor. Or Vitamin Water zero. I also sometimes have a cup of broth...at this point it goes down easy and I count it as a liquid as opposed to "food". But there are days when I feel like I drank a ton and I still fall short....

All we can do is our best but definitely make sure to get enough to avoid dehydration.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
