5 Month Progress Shot!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

Today marks 5 months post-op for me, so I figured I would post a few pictures to show my progress. I started out at 288 and this morning I weighed in at 200.7 (ALMOST onederland)! I can't believe how fast the time flew. I would like to lose about 35 more pounds to get to 165. I'm

starting to think that may be too small for my frame, but I'll see as I get closer and will readjust if necessary. Hope everyone is having a great start to 2014!

I have stalled and am getting frustrated. Anyone else out 6 months stalling? I eat between 800-900 calories, less than 50 carbs, 80 to 90 grams Protein and try to drink 8 glasses of Water each day, any suggestions? I have bad knees and don't exercise much but am working and walk there. Thanks

From my understanding that is probably normal. Frustrating? Yes. Just keep on.

Hey honib! Looks like you're doing all the right stuff! Some things to maybe consider: try increasing your calories to like 1000-1100 one or two days a week, increasing your Water or adding in one or two days of "higher" carb days. I usually try to fluctuate my calories to keep my body guessing and on my high days I usually end up doing higher carb (not bad carbs, just more veggies or some plain air popped popcorn). I remember Butterbean saying in an old post he wouldn't lose weight if he only drank 8 cups of water, so I took his advice and guzzle at least 100 oz. throughout the day. Also, I was kind of in a slow funk for a few weeks (not a stall but very slow losses) and ramped up the intensity of my cardio and that has helped me incinerate the pounds over the past 2 weeks. Do you have access to a pool? That is low impact that will get your heart rate pumping. I have read that the elliptical and ArcTrainer (looks like a floating elliptical) are much better on the knees than running or walking, so maybe check those out if you can!

Those are some things that are working for me and my surgeon and NUT support them, but just make sure you run any changes you want to make by your medical team just in case!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
