That's great!!!! My surgeon does not require any pre op diet, but I'm a little paranoid and think I should probably do one anyway?!? I'm an RN so I have enough training to be terrified...lol! I am just going back and forth from excitement to fear and need any pointers you could give me :)

Hello ladies, fellow Arkansas here. I live in Sherwood & was sleeved at Baptist on 12-16. I'm down about 25 pounds since surgery & about 60 since I started this journey. I will be happy to share or answer any questions you might have.

I was terrified as well cried for hours the night before just because of the fear of the unknown the recovery was much much easier than I expected, not easy but not as bad as I had feared. Biggest thing you can do is walk as soon as you can. You will be fine! I started surgery day at 308 I'm at 281 today. I was just moved to soft foods and eating is definitely tough I can handle yogurt and sugar free pudding fairly easy but foods with more consistency are tough I can only handle 6-7 bites and I am stuffed. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine.

I keep wondering if I should postpone it but I have already done that a couple of times. I had my second ACL repair on 12/17 so my emotions are running high to say the least. I know it can only help my knee to get this weight off tho. I just needed someone to tell me it will all be ok :)

This was my first surgery, first IV, first everything! I had only had a couple of blood draws before I decided to do this surgery. In my opinion, and I have nothing to compare it to, the sleeve surgery was no problem. I had more trouble with no ice chips, no liquids for 24 hours than I did actual pain. I used the morphine pump several times throughout the day but last used it at midnight the day of surgery. I was up walking to the bathroom a few hours after surgery & walking the halls the next two days. So, if I can do it you can too!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
