I'm 18 days out of surgery and no longer having the pain/cramp I was anytime I would eat or drink too fast. Is my stomach just healing or could it be stretched??? I've followed measurements for liquid and purée. Is it easy to stretch it out??

Nah, this sounds normal to me. The pain should lessen when you're drinking/eating. Meaning, you should be able to handle things better with time. I no longer have any pain or discomfort unless I eat/drink way too fast or eat too fast.

If you are following your surgeons instructions for how much and how often to eat / drink you don't need to worry about stretching the pouch! I remember thinking the same thing at about 20 days out, and the reality is the inflammation in your pouch is reducing and you are healing making it easier to consume a bit more than in the first days post surgery!

Nah, this is a good thing - it means the swelling in your stomach is going down! Remember, your stomach has been cut and stapled down to 15% of it's original size so it's going to be swollen for a while post-op. :)

Mine changed twice like that.

I just made sure to measure everything I ate n drank. I still do too at 11 weeks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
