Constipation and "the Slimes" - kinda sounds like a rock band doesnt it?

Recommended Posts

I know this is a common topic, but now I too have run in to "slow moving traffic..." Im starting out with MOM, and praying it will work...

Last night Felipe (my sleeve) got upset with the slimes....for what i thought was no reason.....i did everything text book.....could it have been caused by traffic being backed up?

Just curious....

Thanks!

Shelby

Constipation still is a problem for me at times. I found a tea "smooth move" that ALWAYS does the trick. I have not had slimes so can't help you with that one but try the tea...it's a lifesaver.

Good to know...I've seen that tea but wasn't sure if it worked....how long does it take and does it bother your sleeve?

Thanks,

Shelby

Doesn't bother my sleeve at all but word of advice...first time you use it, stay in. It tends to work quickly and of course my first time I was so desperate for relief that I drank a huge mug of hot tea and boy oh boy...it cleaned me out big time. You will figure out what the best dose is for you after the first couple of times. you will experience a little rumbling in the lower areas...like the colon. You will definitely know it is working. I don't have to use the tea but maybe 1-2 times a month now and I always make sure I can be home, for obvious reasons. Good luck !

I have been dealing with Constipation for most of my post surgery time. It isn't every day, but enough that it makes me uncomfortable. I will have to give the Smooth Move tea a try. I also added Colace to my nightly supplements and that helps increase bowel motility. It is gentle and can be taken every day with no adverse affects. The problem is when you reduce calories you also reduce volume and Fiber, which is needed to have normal bowel movements. A Fiber supplement may also work, but check with your doctor first as some are too hard on early post surgery digestive systems.

Yes, if I'm "backed up", it definitely affects both my appetite and how I tolerate the food I eat. I definitely feel there is a connection between the two.

Totally agree...in fact I was told no fiber as well....

***The good news is that I have released the demon...lol...so the MOM worked really fast......we are very happy now :-)

What is MOM and which type of tea? Sorry. New to this. I'm havering my lapband removed and getting the sleeve done Feb. 4th. Excited but anxious. My band slipped... The 2% type slip where it's not my stomach going through but it slipped around my espohugus and needs to come out.

Totally agree totally!!!! I know I discussed fiber supplements with my surgeon and he specifically told me not to do fiber gummies and I'm not allowed to go back on Vitamins until i see him at my one month post op.... I really have to keep Felipe happy so I'm very nervous about starting the fiber.....

Milk of Magnesia is what it stands for.

Worked like a charm surprisingly and didn't have any problems....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
