I had lots of waves of pain/cramping.....I think some of it was gas and I took gas X a lot at first. It took about 4-5 days for it to stop for me. Hang in there it does get better.

I'm 6 weeks post-op today, and I still occasionally get stomach spasms. They're strong and very painful when they do happen. I've noticed drinking something cold causes them, but I also get them at other times for no apparent reason. My surgeon prescribed hyoscyamine before I left the hospital, and that helps very quickly. They've decreased in frequency, and I've read they'll eventually go away all together. Hang in there!!

Warrenwife, I see you just joined today. Welcome! Check out the band to sleeve revisions group, and the December 2013 sleevers group. They are both full of useful information and support.

I have the same waves of pain in my abdomen. They were much worse for the first 2 weeks post op. My surgeon said it was very normal, and not to worry about it. I do take Omeprezole every day. I'm 3 weeks out now, and they are a lot less common. I couldn't find any reason as to when they'd happen, but think it was just my tummy adjusting.

Good luck. I was worried about a leak too, but the surgeon said I'd know it. I had a list like a stop light,

red call right away - any one of these symptoms: constant vomiting, blood in stools or urine, temp of 101, not being able to keep down fluids.

I had my postop nutrition and nurse appointments today and got the ok to move to any healthy food. Just small portions and chew, chew chew. No liquid with meals.

I'm less than 24 hours post op and am having this same cramping/spasm. Thanks for the info. Good to know it's not just me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
