My journey: It Finally Begins!

Recommended Posts

I'm definitely doing better now! I have progressed to thicker foods; pudding consistency. I only can eat little bits though so I still rely heavily on Protein shakes! I've been playing with flavors so that helps! Sick of chocolate! Can't believe I'm saying that!

A friend gave me a caramel latte Protein Powder. I mix 1/2 scoop, chocolate PB2 and 1 1/2 cups of skim milk....YUM!!!

I've been really depressed. It has been so difficult for me to adjust. I take an anti depressant and in wondering if it has stopped working. Anyone take pristiq and had problems after surgery? My doc upped my dose but I'm worried about overdosing on it now! She wants me to take 100 mg In morn and 100 mg at night. I'm afraid to do that!

So sorry you're going through this. Have you though about having a chat with the psychiatrist that you met with, pre-op?

I thought I should probably do that Lainey. She would be experienced with people dealing with the same issues. I will have my follow up pretty soon.

1mjs, with all of your hormone changes seeing a psychiatrist is definitely a good idea, especially if they have experience with bariatric patients. I hope you are feeling well soon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
