Goal Weight Outfits! :)

Recommended Posts

Does anybody else out there have a certain something they want to fit in at some point?
My parents bought me a Glee Dalton Academy Warbler uniform for Christmas, intentionally too small, and it's kinda my goal to be able to wear it this summer to a convention. :) Do you guys have something special that you want to fit in? <3

A pair of awesome size 14 jeans I bought 10 years ago when I lost a bunch of weight. They're still in perfect condition. Just sittin on the top shelf of the closet, waiting for me...

Yes! I have always been unable to wear boots and I hate that! There are so many cute boots out there and they go with so many outfits but it's really hard to find boots when you have big calves. As soon as I am able, I'm going to buy boots like these :D

A very cute red top my daughter gave me a few years back. It is hanging on the back of our bedroom door. I also have this very cute jacket I bought a fews years back that has been hanging in our hall closet that was too small at the time, but such a good price. I tried in on today and it fits!! I almost cried. Life is good :)

My first goal is to get into the size 12 New York & Company jeans I bought 3 year ago. Then I have a size 10 pair that is about 15 years old.

I have some very pretty lingerie from my wedding night -- will be 23 years this summer and that would be a nice anniversary present to be able to fit into that again.

I love summer dresses and look forward to having a nice dress for my son's high school graduation in June.

Hmmm.....June is shaping up to be a big month. I'd better get busy losing weight and toning all I can!

Best wishes to all of us in the coming year -- here's to healthy happy transformation! Thanks for starting a great thread, Allie!

I'd love to be able to wear boots too! :)

I've always had to wear men's shoes or wide shoes for women.

I'd really like to be able to get some sparkly, glittery TOMS for girls at some point too. <3

I think I'm just going to walk around naked all the time, enjoying being at my goal weight. J/K.

I'm already buying bodycon dresses....I love the Herve Leger bandage dress look. Hopefully it will stay in style!

Don't forget to try on those smaller sizes you all have stocked away in a box or the back of your closet. I had the very sad experience today of stumbling upon a gorgeous Elie Tahari linen suit I had bought in Florida a couple of years ago on vacation...telling myself at that time I'd lose enough weight to fit into a size 18.

Well, I forgot to try it on over this past summer and did so today. No way I would ever wear it....it is just swimming on me now. Not only was that money wasted, but I REALLY LOVE THIS SUIT. I'm going to e-bay it, but still....check your "skinny" clothes stock and don't let a nice outfit fly by you on the way down the scale.

Me too and was finally able to get me some for Christmas. It was my gift to myself but mine are black.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
