First day of liquid diet

Recommended Posts

I expected to feel like I was starving but after drinking the Protein shakes, I really didn't want to eat..even when I was offered delicious food. Nobody can throw down on some boneless chicken breasts like me but when I tried to eat it, I felt nauseous like someone offered me a dead mouse. I find this strange but who knows, maybe I can manage to get through the next 3 weeks without cheating. anyone else felt like this? also, how was the first day of your diet?

How long will your liquid diet be? I found that after 4-5 days it wasn't that bad. When I had all my Protein and wanted something I had warm savory broth and that did the trick. I just wish I hadn't gained back all the weight I lost on the liquid diet while in the hospital.

That SUCKED :-(

My pre op diet is for 3 weeks. I'm sure you'll be fine,I've heard about people gaining weight while at the hospital and then drop it all off soon after =]

I am scheduled for surgery in Austin, TX on 01/14/2014. I only have to do a pre op diet for 2 weeks which is 900 calories a day which contain no more than 30 g of carbs, 10g of fat, and a minimum of 70g of Protein a day. I do a Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch. I ate egg whites yesterday because I hit a starving moment and it did the job. Then for dinner I am eating salads, green Beans, broccoli, or some other green vegtable and about 10 ounces of grilled chicken breast. So far I am on my 3rd day and its not as bad as I thought it was going to be. But I can see what people mean when they refer to head hunger and after surgery when I am on complete liquids only, I hope that I feel just as satisfied now. This is definitely a lifestyle change and I have learned so much already in my journey. I wish you luck on your journey and your upcoming surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
