I'm in!

I'm excited to try for the first time. I'll have to think hard about a goal as I'm only 8 days post op. Any advice?

Kiap, I don't know how good this advice will be but I've been guessing about 2-3lbs per week but it also depends on your weight now (I'm a bigger person so it's coming off slightly faster). You're still early in where Fluid shifts happen which can be interpreted as "stalls" when your body is readjusting. There are going to be periods during this time when you're not going to lose anything for days (or weeks), then randomly you're down 3-4lbs. I've found no rhyme or reason personally to my weight loss but again I am still very early in the process at about 11.5 weeks out. I would set a small goal and when you pass it, it will be a great feeling! I am very thankful for these challenges and Bea because it helps me track my progress and see others who are further out have success as well. It's exciting to see people make their goals. I missed my goal the first challenge (didn't really know how to set my goal either and was still early in the postop period) and I'm 2lbs away from goal for the New Years Challenge for which I calculated 3lbs/week. Good luck to you!

I'm in for my first challenge. I, too, will be only 2.5 weeks out from surgery. Might as well give it a go.

I'm in since I'm not the only newbie :-)

Anything that I need to do to join?

Nope on the first just type in your start weight and the weight you wanna be at by V-day. Each week on Friday I believe this one will be just type in your current weight and Bea will like your post and add you weight to the chart!! :) It's fun and keeps me accountable for my weight loss! :)

Bea -- Thank you so much for setting this up! I'll be one month post-op, and I'd love to work towards a specific goal with accountability. All the advice for us newbies here has been great, so thanks to you all!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
