I can't lie, I'm feeling a mixture of emotions. I was finally approved by my insurance company and my surgery was scheduled for January 28th. I'm hoping the next month goes by quickly and the nerves settle down. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.

We remember feeling the same. Somehow the time will be over before you know it. Just read and study, get your Vitamins purchased, get your little bag ready for the hospital, and keep yourself busy. My husband was told there could bad problems because of his weight, diabetes, blood pressure, sleep apnea, etc, and he carried a worried look for two months - making me think he did not want the surgery. I kept questioning him. He wanted it. Today we are both 1 month post op and almost 1 month post op, and doing great. The surgery was 10 times easier than we expected. Do not read the scary posts here, focus on the positives. This is a wonderful tool to learn everything you need to know from others as you make this journey. Merry Christmas!

Congrats on your approval, I had my Sleeve done on July 29,13. I was scard to death I was having uncontrolled blood sugar, extremly high trglicerides, my blood pressure was high, I have to sleep with a cpap. I have lost a total of 69 lbs. Im under 200 lbs. I was on 3 different insulins now I take one long acting, and every once in a while I take Humalog sliding scale. I hope as I lose the weght I will be able to get off all the insulin. Just remember drink every 10 min. after surgery and up and walking that night after surgery. Very important drink lots of fluids.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
