Is it normal...

...to still be having rather solid bm's even though today starts Day 5 of my pre opt liquid diet? I promise I won't keep askng but it's really weird to me that I have had nothing but liquid (only Protein Shakes, clear broth, Water w/lemon and cucumber) for FIVE DAYS STRAIGHT and even though I'm only going once a day instead of 3 to 4 times like i did on solid food, I'm not having a liquid stool. how is this possible? Am i normal? Is the fact i'm having a solid stool an indicator that i still have a lot of food stored in my intestine or something? I havent cheated and had anyrhing other than the broth, water, and Protein shakes (except i do take 2 women's one a day and i take a zicam because i work with small kids and have a small sniffle that i dont want ti turn into a surgery stopping cold)

My NUT said you will still experience solid stool - just not as much of it. That's post op as well.

Your GI tract is a marvel...

If "0" is liquidy-loose and "5" is uncomfortably rock hard, then "Normal" is anything between "1" and "4". You are good!

Thanks guys for all the responses. I was freaking out a bit because I remembered once a few years ago i was VERY stressed and cluldnt stomach any food, so I drank like two 12 oz cups of coffee and maybe a bit of danish everyday and around day 3 my stool was complete liquid.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
