a year ago.....things were so difficult

Recommended Posts

What an inspirational story.

I saw this comedian on Letterman a few weeks ago. He was talking about how fat he used to be. He said, "when you're fat, it's amazing how quickly you run out of oxygen just bending over to put your socks on". I'm para-phrasing of course, but you get the gist. So true for me.

I remember those days. And life was difficult. Thank you lapband and Merry Christmas to my lapband and all lapband forum members!!!

Putting my socks on....could not do it with both hands...had to do it with one hand, sort of from the side...now I can stand on one foot on put them on in 2 seconds....

Not only could I not put my socks on easily.. as B52 says from the side sort of.. but tying my shoes was pretty near impossible.. Today my husband and I had pictures done for our kids Christmas present... first time in years I wanted a camera near me.. I actually put my jeans on without holding onto anything.. just slipped them on.. it's really amazing how weight affects our everyday tasks.. going shopping tomorrow to the Mall.. lots of walking and less eating than last year... Thanks everyone for your words of praise and encouragement.. I feel very blessed to have found banded friends who understand..

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
