Valuable Lesson At 8 Days Post Op

Recommended Posts

I'm 8 days post op and doing VERY well - getting in my Protein & Water without difficulty. Had been taking a chewable Calcium tab from CelebrateVitamins.com but decided the taste was not to my liking so yesterday rec'd my new kind from same company - chocolate chew calcium. Took 2 last evening, and no problem. I'll take chocolate taste over berry any day! :P The caramel flavor is yummy also. (Just note they're 250 mg each, not 500 mg.)

This morning while driving to work I was having my Premier Protein shake, and decided to have a calcium chew also. After a few minutes I was a little queasy (first time since hospital), then definitely nauseated. :( It went away after a half hour or so, but then I was light-headed and a bit dizzy. I started drinking water, and that helped. All symptoms are gone now. I think I had a very mild episode of dumping.

Lesson learned: Wait until later in the day to have anything that tastes the LEAST bit sweet, even if it's sweetened with maltilol.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
