Recovery Time

Recommended Posts

Hello all, having my band removed and revision to rny on the 20th of January 2014 in Brisbane, Australia . I have a fairly physical job at times ( work in a refinery ) and was wondering how long others have had off. Surgeon said 4 weeks should kill it. Work has unlimited sick leave so time isn't an issue. Was wondering how long everyone else has taken off ?

I only took two weeks, but I have a sit down job. Couldn't lift anything over 15 lbs for six weeks though. Two months out on the 11th. from bypass.

I was off 2 weeks, wish I had taken 4...mainly because I got worn out very quickly and working your phases of food the first month is a full time job in its self...if you can afford the time id take it and focus on your new life...good luck to you

I was told by my surgeon that 3 weeks would be all I needed but I have a physical job and I work 12 hour shifts so I took 4 weeks and so glad I did! I don't think I could have done my job after only 3 weeks. Good luck :-)

I took 1 week, then worked from home about 35 hours this 2nd week. Wound up taking 1/2 day today because I was so tired, and I do not have a physical job whatsoever.

If you're lucky enough to be able to take the time, go for 3-4 weeks for a good, healthy recovery. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
