Inches Lost....

Recommended Posts

Question, for those who are measuring themselves "inch wise" what has been an average monthly inch loss for you? I lost 5.5 inches last month, but was kind of disappointed. I don't know what I thought I had lost, but I felt so good and my clothes were fitting better, and then I had what I thought was such a low number. Ironically, my weight dropped 14 pounds and everyone says don't worry about the scale but see the inches go down. I know I'm in the right direction, but Boo. I'm just curious as to what "normal" really looks like. Thanks in advance.

if you lost inches, then you are losing weight.

if that makes you disappointed, nothing i say will change it.

and its a fact and yes i say and preach it, if you are losing inches, then you are losing actual weight regardless of what the scale says or doesnt say....its truth...its reality...its a sure sign of weight loss.

I have not lost, nor gained weight in almost 2 years now....but my clothing sizes continue to change...as a matter of fact I noticed the slacks I put on the other day were loose around the waist...next pair will be another size down....

That's not from loosing weight, that's is from continuing to exercise and body toning...

Before surgery in April, I wore pants with a 44 waist, and they were tight. Seven months later, I am down to a 38 waist, and these pants are getting loose.

Before the surgery I wore 3XL shirts and jackets. That equated to a 56-58" chest. today I am down to a size XL. That equates to about a 48" chest.

So, if you lost 5.5" in one month, that is a hell of a good job.

The one thing I find most humorous of all this is that in weeks that I may not see a big difference those are the weeks when I realize it is time to buy new shirts or pants. I am not sure why that is, but it lets me know I am still on the right path.

Before surgery I was up to 44-46" waist, and it had to be elastic.....I am now at a 33", some pants a 32"

Shirts were 2XL Big, a few 3XL's in sweaters....I am now wearing all mediums, and have even worn a small here there but it makes my port very obvious and it sticks through....

It's great to walk into any clothing store, or order anything online without any restrictions what so ever!!!

I know I'm losing weight, 33 pounds so far yay! Of course I'm not disappointed about that. But I never have heard anything about what normal or average inch loss is. I know technically 1-2 pounds a week is average weight loss with the band or at least the generic goal....I just wanted to know if there was even an average inch loss "spectrum" as I have never used measurements ,myself ,to track progress.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
