cymbalta after surgery

Recommended Posts

I'm on cymbalta 60 mg. I took them before and after surgery without any issues. I never had to cut them open, or do anything different.

Always check with your doctor regarding this stuff...I was afraid the capsule was too big for at least the first month or so...didn't want anything to get stuck.

This might be too late to mention, but I am also on cymbalta. I was told to take the capsule whole because of the time release. The outer coating dissolves so that the medicine is dispensed slowly. However, if you open the capsule and take the "beads" at one time, you get the dose all at once which can be dangerous.

I am just like alot of you. I have been on Cymbalta for years and i am in a good place with it and do not want to mess with it. My dr. said absolutely no time release Cymbalta until 3 weeks after surgery. I could take it at 12am the morning of my surgery (6am) though. I have spoken with my general doctor and he doesnt' seem to think I should have a problem with it and I also asked a nurse practitioner about it and he said he sees nothing wrong with it. Soooo, I will skip one dose the day after surgery and take it the 2nd day after surgery. God I hope it goes down and does what it's suppose to do.

I was pulled off all time release medications because I was told they would no longer dissolve in time to be as effective. Was switched from Ambien CR to regular Ambien.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
