Gym and personal trainer covered under Flex Spending Account

Recommended Posts

I am in my third month of going to a personal trainer and I love it. Yes, it's a bit expensive but worth every penny for me. I started wondering if I could get it covered under my Aetna Flex Spending account. Started reading and in fact it states you can submit for gym membership and personal trainer if you have a letter from your doctor. I called my surgeons office and asked about it since they want you to exercise. They checked and the doctor wrote a letter for me. So tomorrow I will submit the paper work for reimbursement.

So, others out there might want to check their insurance plans for coverage.

I have Aetna as well but I have used all my benefits for this year so next year I will look into this. Thanks for the info

Interesting. I am a federal employee and I just looked up what my benefit is, and I can also get my gym membership paid with a doctor's note. I am spending a small fortune on my personal trainer, so I am definitely going to do this next year since I have no money left for this year!

Here is what the website says: https://www.fsafeds.com/fsafeds/summaryofbenefits.asp#HowdoIsubmitGym

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
