It depends on your comfort.. I can chug/gulp/guzzle Water if I want. I've been able to drink three gulps at a time since less than a week out.I never really went through the sip, sip, sip stage, though at first I did have to take it a bit slower... Now with a fully healed sleeve, I don't feel any different with liquids now than I did pre-sleeve.. with the exception of if I forget and take a drink after eating! THAT is not pleasant. but other than that for me I drink water however I want!

Now that my sleeve is healed up I can drink Water however I want. Even drinking it fast is ok, I just can't drink a whole glass all at once, I don't think that there is enough room in there. LOL

Oddly enough I can gulp Water with no problems and I am 2 days out. I try to slow down and keep it to sips though.

For me, some days Water is a bit uncomfortable, but most days are just as if i had never had surgery. I start slow to test it and then drink for whatever mood my sleeve is infor that day!

Sip sip sip!!! Even when working out its best to sip the Water because otherwise you could get a stomach ache from chugging the water. Prior to surgery when I would run and I would guzzle down water I would get a terrible stomach ache or feel full which would slow my running. Small sips works best!

I like many of the others can drink totally normal. I was worried about the working out thing too and in no time could drink like normal.

I can't drink big gulps of Water comfortably - it feels like it gets stuck in my oesophagus and has to trickle down into my tum. I eat ok

I'm just over 6 months out and I'd assumed everyone was like this - so today is a big wake up call. Does anyone else still experience this months after being sleeved?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
