What stage will you be on? At four weeks I was on purees and would not have been permitted anything on a standard Thanksgiving dinner table. I probably would have pureed some turkey with gravy and eaten that.

If you are on soft foods, you can probably have a little (non-pureed!) turkey with gravy and a tiny bit of cooked green veggies if you chew them really well.

I'll be 15 weeks by then. Since I dont have room for much I will probably take a spoonful of all my favs, but try to concentrate on Protein (aka Turkey).

I will be 2 and a half weeks out on Thanksgiving and my NUT told me to make all day Thanksgiving dinner. I have to eat five meals, so I am to make one smashed sweet potatoes, one turkey blended with broth, one mashed potatoes and gravy, etc. She even said I could have one spoonful of the center of the pumpkin pie.

By Thanksgiving I will be 10 weeks out and I'll have a little bit of turkey, some green bean casserole and a tiny dollop of mashed taters.

I'll also be 5 weeks out at that point. I will be on soft foods. I figure I will have some mashed turkey with gravy in it to make it soft and some green bean casserole.

Maybe some sf Jello later for desert.

I was sleeved last year on 11/7 and was on puréed food by Thanksgiving. I had turkey puréed with a little gravy. THIS time, it will be over a year & I'm SO looking forward to a taste of all of my favorites.

I already informed my family that I will NOT be preparing Thanksgiving dinner this year. I have been the hostess, cook, financer, and clean up for 12 years now. Since I will only be about a month out I won't be able to eat and enjoy everything I usually fix, so I am on strike. They can have tv dinners, or turkey sandwiches. Next year will be a different ballgame, but this year I am playing it lazy. One year I can sit and watch parades and relax...sounds ok to me!!

My family long since gave up the idea of having our mom slave away in the kitchen for days and we all just go out to eat on thanksgiving and have other people prepare the food!

This is the one and only year that I'm going to count it as a blessing that it is my shift to work this year. We rotate Holidays. I'm going to miss my Grandma's cooking that's for sure. I'll only be 4 weeks post op on Thanksgiving so I'm glad tht I'll be at work.

Now I actually do have a valid excuse to skip family dinner altogether and hit the sales early.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
