  11. I forgot one.... I regret initially obsessing over the numbers on the scale. The scale can mislead and deceive you into believing you are not as successful as you really are. I now put my trust into my measurements and how my clothes fit.
  12. I regret upsetting Sleevie J by eating french fries last week. Sleevie J no longer likes french fries. I regret the very expensive size 18 dress I brought in September. I'll never be able to wear it again. I regret the time I have spent wondering why I'm not losing weight faster. Slow weight loss is better than no weight loss. I regret second guessing my decision in the days leading up to my surgery. This was the best thing I could have done!
  13. Just for laughs. With the obesity issues facing this country isn't it about time we put Santa on a weight loss plan. The accumulation of fat around his mid section is a precursor to future health issues. He binges all night on Cookies and and likely suffers from diabetes. Are we sending the right messages to kids? I think it's time for us to wake up and realize that Santa is a ticking time bomb. Santa needs an intervention. We need to put out more carrots and less cookies. He needs more exercise and less sleigh rides. Maybe he should look into weight loss surgery. Next year I would like to see a slimmer, healthier Santa.
  14. vitamin water is ok it has electrolytes. it was hard to get the fluid in the first few weeks but just set a reminder on your cell phone to drink every 15 min. At just 5 days out just drink something. Anything clear. whatever is in the fridge. My doctor actually said to me during our discharge discussion "carbs, calories, blah blah blah. worry about all that later... just get in your fluids." think about how plants look when they haven't had water. that's kinda like what your body goes through when it's not getting enough. good luck.
  15. If you're talking about the rtd drinks not the powder i mix them with 100% fruit juice. I mix the apple melon with 1/2 cup of apple juice and it tastes really good. I mix alpine punch with pom juice, orange flavor with pineapple juice etc. I swear by the isopure ready-to-drink bottles.

  21. Lets all remember how much easier it is to find great "skinny clothes" on sale. I often wondered who the manufactures are making clothes for? All the discount stores like Marshall's and TJ Maxx are full of smaller sizes at reduced costs however the plus sized racks are always empty. Even the Department stores have huge sections of smaller sizes on final mark down and clearance but the plus sections are barely stocked. I looooove clothes shopping and cant wait until its my turn.
  22. I feel the same way. I keep going grocery shopping and I only buy the things I should have but I buy way too much. I have enough food and drinks to last me a year. This is really weird for me too. But I'm losing and I can definitely get used to it!
  23. I'm about 5 weeks out and on soft solids. The past few days I have had insatiable cravings for all the wrong foods. I had sushi on yesterday and I was able to eat 8 pieces in one sitting (eaten over 1 hour). I ate a coconut macaroon an hour later. I feel like I could eat anything. I'm so disappointed in myself for eating that cookie and I'm surprised I was able to eat that many pieces of sushi. On the pureed and full liquid stages I would feel discomfort if I ate too much. I am just going back to liquid for the next day or two. The thing that concerns me most is I was able to eat these things without the slightest discomfort or gastric distress. I had rice and sugar and nothing... no gas no pain no belly ache. I feel like I was taking some type of chance or risk but the consequences I subconsciously sought were not realized. Has anyone else found themselves surprised but how much they were able to eat once they started eating again? I guess yesterday showed me just how much I have to stay diligent to reach my goal.

  26. yes Seela really. If you have ever read any of my posts and comments then it would be very clear that sensitive is not a word used by anyone to ever describe me. this was not about make up. now had you said something about one of your friends with bad acne scars or someone with chicken pox looking for foundation it would have been clearly understood. however, race is NEVER going to be an accetable topic to crack jokes about on this forum or any other. live and learn. good day.
  27. Really Seela? Your recent attempt at humor was lacking. Correct me if I am mistaken but black people do not use foundation because they are black ("blackness" is not something to be hidden or corrected) just as white people do not use foundation because they are white. Of all the analogies in the universe this was your choice of words? Seems a bit odd, mismatched and underhanded. Hopefully your future comments will have more thought and consideration prior to posting. Have a great day.
  28. I have been experiencing a daily issue with gas and bloating. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat or when I eat it but EVERY SINGLE DAY. I get all bloated and gassy around 5 o'clock. I have no real issues with anything else just the gas. I am doing some yoga poses when i get home in the evening to help and I am still taking gas-x pills and strips (is it possible to OD on gas-x?) But This is increasingly becoming an issue. I have skim milk in the morning with my Protein shake. Usually fish for lunch and more fish or chicken for dinner. I'm 1 month post. Does anyone else experience this?
  29. Same exact thing happened to me. Read this and it helps make sense of it all. link was posted previously by Butterthebean. http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html#.UoQYUSifOQI
  30. Ok. I just had to do one more just for us. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled with tiny portions.
  31. This is too funny! I love it. I got one. "The meek shall inherit the earth's leftovers."
