I don't like meat

Recommended Posts

I really don't like meat or eggs. I never have. After being being sleeved I dislike meat even more. That being said I don't know how to get my Protein in. Cottage cheese and Yogurt are tolerable, but boy that gets boring. I have refried nonfat Beans almost everyday, and Protein Shakes. I am almost 4 weeks out & starting "real" food. Any suggestions? Have any of you tried quinoa after being sleeved?

Tofu, I've tasted a lot of good variations of it. Has to be cooked right. I haven't figured it out yet, but I have no problem with meat. My daughter is a vegatarian and we always worried about her diet early on, her biggest issue was Iron, but she does eat eggs. Good luck.

This may sound stupid but doesn't Tofu give endocrine problems? I was a vegan ages ago but my thyroid levels went down (I have hypothyroidism)...my doctors said it was from soy but I never knew if that was actually it or not. I love Tofu and would love to eat it because I don't like meat. I find myself eating Beans but the carbs rack up very quickly with that... I don't mind meat in Soups though (you can try that?)
I hope to see some more advice on this thread...thanks everyone for replying to this. I'm in the same boat, lol.

I eat tofu, no problems, and I like soynuts too. I don't eat soy only, though, I have fat free ricotta, kefir, almonds and walnuts ( only 1 oz per serving). I also eat a lot more fish now than ever before. I also have hemp Protein Powder to switch it up from whey. I eat Beans 4 times a week. My nut told me to count the net carbs (total carbs minus fiber), which makes beans a great source of Protein.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
