Do you look older since you lost weight?

Recommended Posts

It does. Love my Botox! Going for Restalyne next week. I don't plan to get much. Just a little under the eyes and around the mouth.

Edifying us! What does the Botox do? I wouldn't have thought it would help. Thank you for any info you can provide!

Botox paralyzes the muscles that form wrinkles. It relaxes the wrinkles since the muscle cannot contract. Great for crow's feet and forehead lines.

hard to say. I grew a beard at the same time and it came in black, unlike the little hair i have on top. most people say i look younger. but peoples estimate are highly influenced by non visual cues, such as how people act and move. the confidence and mobility that we can get with weight loss can make us seem younger.

I'm 51, and up until 5-10 pounds ago, I think I've been looking better - neither younger or older. However, my neck is really looking bad, so I think that makes me look older. The only fix for that is a knife, and I'm going to have something done. In the past 5-10 pounds, I've been starting to think I look like what I call a "weight-loss victim". Slightly deeper labial nasal folds, marionette lines around the mouth, and fine wrinkles around my eyes. I had botox this week for those fine lines, and I think I'll be getting fillers for the mouth and nose. So, I guess that's a really long answer to the question - I look older than I want to, so I feel the need to intervene, lol. But even if I didn't have anything done, I still think I look better than before :)

I'm 43 and was told I looked a lot younger. They may have been pulling my leg when they said 19 and 23.

I would have guessed mid-20's, early 30's at most.

14764_107169282626811_5288875_n.jpg Here I am before! I'm 38 in this photo. 1380468_703138879696512_95996062_n.jpg And here's a selfie from last week. you decide. I'm 41 and I've always looked a lot younger. Now I am looking more my age.. and I expect to look even older as I shed more pounds... I have made peace with it.. To me the youthful appearance that excess weight provides does not necessarily mean you LOOK BETTER fat. just younger. I liken it to people with ridiculously long beautiful hair.. their hair might look amazing, but the individual would probably look overall better with a cute hairstyle that flattered their face. ..... so yeah I'll take the hit in the "youthful face" department because overall I'm looking and feeling better than ever.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
