Hopeliveshere,

My doctor's office has you do this on the day you attend your pre-op and post-op nutrition class. They normally perform an EKG, chest x-ray and labs. I had mine done 8 days before surgery on 10/17. They asked us to have it completed at least a week in advance so they had everything on file. A few tests they order take a couple days to get the results.

You can call your doctor's office and ask them to send you the paper work and get it done when the time works better for you.

I am lucky, I work within 2 miles of the hospital and drive by it every day to and from work so I left early and got it completed.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

My preop appointment was 2 days before my surgery. Part of the preop was done at the doctor's office with the bariatric nurse & then I was sent over to the hospital for registration & bloodwork. I am a total planner, and I remember feeling anxious about getting everything scheduled, too. Try not to stress too much....I'm sure it will all work out just fine. Good luck to you!

I had the preadmission blood work drawn 13 days prior to surgery, which was the same day as my nutrition class, that's the way they set it up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
