How much are you eating?

Recommended Posts

Was wondering how much (.5 cup, 1 cup etc) is everyone eating ? And how many weeks or months post-op are you?

I'm trying to prepare myself...

I'm more than two years out and have been at goal for more than 1.5 years. I do not eat more than three ounces of Protein at a time. I can eat that, and about 1/2 cup of veggies in one sitting along with a little starch. Today for dinner I had a cup of chili and a small piece of cornbread.

On my blog I have pictures of what I eat. Yu can see even in 3 months, the amount has increased over time slowly. I can eat 2-3 oz of dense Protein and now 1 oz of cooked veggies with it. My husband, sleeved the same day can do 4 oz of dense protein and 1-2 oz of cooked veggies.

I am 4 weeks out and was told by my doctor to have 1-4 oz primarily Protein 5-6 times a day. He said never to have more than 4 oz at a time until 6 months post op and the to slowly increase to a maximum of 8 oz for 1 year and beyond. I know every doctor is different but I plan on following my doctor's instructions as I have met many of his patients and they have had great success.

I'm trying to prepare myself...

Everything I eat is in the 3/4 cup to 1 1/2 cup range. meats are usually 3/4 cup. Vegetables, Pasta, and rice are in the 1 1/2 cup range.

You might watch my video on how the amount I can eat changed over the past 10 months.

I had surgery August 1st, 2013... I eat about 700 - 1200 calories a day... But I exercise at least 5 days week. Combined with the exercise and calorie counting I net about 500 calories a day. Most of the meals I eat are Protein (4 oz) and usually dense protein like chicken or beef because that makes me feel full.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
