Nurse with bad typing skills....Grrr

Recommended Posts

I had my 6 week check up today with my doctor. I thought I was doing great, down 48 pounds. I know I could be working out more but with working 2 jobs Im just exhausted. He came in and started yelling at me that I was not on the plan, Im not working out enough and I need to stop eating. I was shocked by this. I came home and looked at my logs. I stay on plan of 1/4 to 1/3 c per meal. I get more Protein in per day then they say. I check the hospital web site tonight for my blood work results. I noticed his nurse had a type-o on my weight. She add 6 freaking pounds. Really!!! Now i see why Im getting yelled at but it's her that needs a good stiff yelling. Miss typing someone weight is a huge mistake.

That would be the last time I ever stepped foot in that place if someone got on me in any way shape or form!!

I know.. I have emailed them about it. I will also call to make sure they get it right on my chart. I left feeling really bad. I didnt eat my feeling like I would have done in the past but I was still tearing my self up over it. Now I see I have done things right and she is the one that need the talking too. If she checks me in again. You bet I will be checking her work before she leaves the room and rechecking it in front of the doctor.

Regardless if the nurse wrote down the wrong weight or not, being yelled at is completely unacceptable.

I agree with brighteyes. The doctor shouldn't be yelling at you, that is wrong. There is a right and a wrong way to approach someone when you are trying to get your point across and it sounds like the doctor took the wrong approach. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience today.

That is no way to treat a anyone, let alone a patient. Even if it had been 42 pounds instead of 48 that is still a average of 8 pounds per week and until he talks to you he can't know if your following the plan, everyone is different they lose different, plus your still are healing

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
