Learning to re-feed myself all over again is one of the most challenging things that comes along with this surgery.

Smaller bites, chewing more, how fast I eat are all things that I struggle with.

What's your challenge?

I found that eating with a baby spoon and using small sauce bowls is very helpful. I'm 2 weeks out. Having a full sauce or condiment bowl gives me the visual that I have a full dish to eat from. Using the baby spoon ensures that I take smaller bites and eat slower. Sounds kind of silly I know but it has been helping me tremendously.

My Nut suggested this, I am 5 days till surgery, so I am not sure how helpful it will be, but I bought 1 oz and 3 oz sized bowls and small spoons. Glad to hear you feel it works :)

I too am doing this eating from toddler dishes. It has helped me slow my eating down.

That's a good idea! I use a lil saucer...

I'm going to have too try smaller utensils, this sounds more feasible

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
