Is this much protein normal?

Recommended Posts

I am 3 days post op and managed to get in 90 grams I Protein today.

I started at 5am and got in half a premade shake which I finished at lunch. In between I had 8oz of milk. I then had some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth. For dinner I had a Protein Shake made with milk that pushed me up to 90.

Is this not normal? I don't want to screw up my surgery.

Was anyone else able to hit this 3 days out?

A lot of folks struggle getting their Proteins & fluids in for a while after surgery. You need the Protein to heal. Just make sure that you're not pushing yourself.

Sounds like you are doing a great job following the doctors recommendations and getting your Protein first! How are you doing on Water intake? Your body will heal faster with a high protein diet, so it sounds like you are doing great.

I was able to hit all my Protein goals and liquids goals right after surgery, so don't worry, you're not odd! Good job and keep it up...and walk, walk, walk!

I am at 90 for Protein and 10oz away from 65 ounces of Water. I was worried bc I do t really feel full exactly. I'm happy to hear others have hit the goals though.

I was able to get to that level by the 4th day after surgery. Don't worry about not feeling full. That is normal. You won't really get to feeling full until you get to the stage in your diet where you are eating things that are more solid.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
