surgery on October 23rd

Recommended Posts

My name is Malaika and I am 39 yrs old. I am having surgery in Tijuana by Dr. Lopez. I am getting married March 15 2014 to a wonderful man. I am the mother of 3 children that see me as perfect. Of course I see all the flaws. I was hit by a drunk driver August 2010 and left paralysed for 2 years. I just started walking last year. My spine was turned upside down so I gained a lot of weight while I was stuck in that chair. Now that God have given me another chance, I want to regain Me. I want as much of my life back as possible. I am on day 2 of the preop and the headache is horrible but worth it. I live in Birmingham so help me through this please

Wow! You're the same age as I am and your story sounds so much like mine. I was in a fall on ice and hit the curb. I wasn't paralyzed but used a walker for a year. Because I was sedentary I gained a lot of weight fast. I thought about going to Mexico but found out Medicare does the sleeve and it took like 3 days got approval.

Good luck and best wishes.

April

It is wonderful to know that I am not alone. Our journey is so similar. I'm nervous now. I wasn't at first but it's coming fast.

God bless you and good luck on your journey, your headache will go away soon, you are detoxing your body. I had a headache for 2 days but after that I was fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
