Trouble going #2

Recommended Posts

Don't mean to be gross, but is anyone else having trouble pooping on the pre op diet? I'm either constipated or not going at all and I'm feeling bloated. Is this normal or am I just weird?

What is your pre-op diet?

Changes in foods will cause your whole system to shift, so ... how's your liquid intake? Fiber?

I am still in my 3 month program with 60 grams Protein, 1100 calories. Yeah, so I have been taking stool softeners and drinking 4 ounces of prune juice 2 X a day. It helps.

Try this. I cup of strawberries, three droppers of KAL liquid Stevia and about six to eight ounces of Water. Put in a blender and drink. Everytime I drink this, it makes me go to the bathroom within 30 minutes sometimes less. I am not sure why, but for my system this works wonders.

I have been having the same issue so I called my Dr.'s office. They told me that I can take milk of magnesia... I'm having surgery on Tuesday & was concerned about not having gone for like 5 days! TMI, I know.... My diet since Oct. 2nd. has been 3 Protein shakes & 2 diet yogurts... SF Jello/SF popsicles.

I'm at 7 weeks post-op and have the same issue. After getting the food I'm supposed to get, it's hard to find room for all that Fiber that I'd like to have. So things can get difficult if I don't try to stay hydrated and get at least a little fiber. I'm not gonna lie, it's tricky and apparently not uncommon....

I had surgery 5/8/13 and have had problems. I have tried just about everything and the only thing that works is Cascara Sagrada. Dr suggested Colace which did nothing much like Correctol, Milk of Magnesia (nauseating).

Wow I have the exact same diet & surgery date. Freaky lol. I guess I will call the dr and see if they say ok to milk of magnesia. Thanks :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
