December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Alright December Sleevers, I'm hoping that this title brings more people in so we can follow and encourage each other through our journeys.

I am 40. I'm 5'4" and about 308 right now. I'd like to get to a healthy BMI which would be around 145. I'm hoping for a December 4th or 5th date with Dr. William Johnson.

Everyone introduce yourselves!

For all my fellow December sleevers who are suffering or struggling trying to get your fluids and your protein in...

Know this...

It gets easier, just hang in there. We are all in this together.

Prayers, prayers and more prayers. You can do this!! Hugs to you!!

Hope you get out soon. I know I feel better at home than in hospital. The sipping gets better. It's my only job right now resting, drinking, and peeing. I've had bouts with hunger. That is not fun. Sending prayers your way . Keep us posted.

Can't say I have felt true physical hunger yet at 9 days out but boy do I think, dream, miss my fave foods -- the aromas are the enemy .... We are human and all that is natural .... Can't wait when I can start introducing solid foods in bite size portions of course probably around early February

Lessofsarah on YouTube, pinterest & Instagram has some amazing VSG friendly recipe ideas I can't wait to get my paws on!!

Ie: cauliflower crust pizza, lasagna stuffed bell peppers, Zucchini noodles, crab cakes, etc

Yum Yum.. I start solids January 16th. I have a sleeve mentor close by. We met at the seminar in July, she accompanied her sister and we struck a freindship. She's been invaluable to me. She's lost 130lbs in a year..and she's given me some great tips and recipes. The two recipes I listed came from her stash. I'm looking forward to solids too. She has one for pizza too, but she said not to worry about that one right now because I can't have it. OMG. Before surgery, Pizza was my most favoritest food. I truly could eat it every single day. So it will be nice to have a replacement. I'll check out the YT channel you listed too.

Unfortunately I had to change my date to Kate January!

Thanks all! My doctor required two weeks liquid diet pre-op, but the past two days I've had this hunger headache and a hunger pain in the "pit" of my stomach. Urrrggghhh. And this two shall past...I'm on full liquids until Jan 2nd, can't wait. Maybe mentally I'm obsessing over the food I can't eat! Trying to stay focused ;(

I too today had a pretty raging hunger. It was odd. Just like you describe, hunger pangs in the pit somewhere... I truly believe we ARE hungry. We have been depriving our bodies of food for how many weeks now?? It's a shock to the system. Fundus or no fundus, our bodies are hungry. I don't have an appetite or wish to eat, but I AM HUNGRY. Once we get to move on to more substantial foods I think we will be fine and satiated with whatever little bit we can eat. Right now I am empty. Like completely empty in the guts. It's not mental for me. My body needs to eat something because it's starving. What a complete mindf*ck....

Hi girls, I am also with dr. Cohen. I'm at memorial pembrook. Was sleeved on dec. 20. Will possibly be discharged today. I'm in a lot of pain, much more than I had expected. I just tried my first roxicet for pain, up until now, I've been on morphine every 3 hours. Broth and water makes me nautious, pain meds make me nautious, And my stomach feels like the muscles have all been torn especially on the left side where they pulled the tummy through. I know that there's light at the end of the tunnel, and I'm looking forward to it. Just trying to breathe and take it day by day!! This seriously makes me rethink considering getting a pannulectomy after I loose the weight. Stomach pain is no joke and you use your stomach for everything!

Feel better!! I was on dilaudid for first 2 days every 4 hours --- loved it!! They moved me to roxicet claiming i cant go home with dilaudid which wasn't strong enough but I suffered through ...also had hiatal hernia repair (ouch!!!!!!)

It gets better with time ... I'm 10 days out today and feeling little to no pain just lack of energy ... Can't wait to get to soft solids

You already look so slim in your avatar

Atlanta - me me me!! I was sleeved 12/17 in NYC.

I started at 250 pre-op and was 241.3 the day of surgery.

Today I'm 236.5! Woot woot!
